Carlos Rivera and Maluma shared the stage to perform their mariachi collab “100 Años” during the annual Premio Lo Nuestro on Thursday (Feb. 18).

It’s one of the best pairings we’ve encountered of late — a classic pop crooner and an edgy pop star — voices joined in a traditionally arranged mariachi song that reminds us romance is alive and well in Latin music.

Onstage, Maluma and Rivera didn’t disappoint. Both wearing black leather pants and jackets, they belted out “100 Años” with emotion and conviction, their voices blending beautifully live.

After surprising fans with his Maluma-assisted “100 Años” in the fall, Rivera recruited Regional Mexican group Calibre 50 for a remix.

The remix dropped in time for Valentine’s Day weekend (Feb. 12), just about three months after the original’s premiere on Nov. 19.

The 2021 Premio Lo Nuestro are airing live from Miami’s AmericanAirlines Arena via Univision with Chiquinquirá Delgado, José Ron and Yuri as hosts of the three-hour show.
