Colombian star Juanes performed a reimagined version of “El Amor Después Del Amor” at the 2021 Latin AMAs on Thursday (April 15).

Getting everyone on their feet and clapping along to the beat of the track, Juanes’ set transported fans to the ’70s with a groovy set reminiscent of the bell-bottom era.

A preview of Juanes’ forthcoming 10th studio album Origen – a collection of reimagined songs that have inspired his career – “El Amor Después Del Amor” is a captivating cover of Fito Paez’s 1992 love anthem.

About his cover, Juanes said: “‘El Amor Después del Amor’ is one of my favorite rock songs of all time. Since the day it came out, what it spoke to, and still does, resonates with me and a whole generation. I have the utmost admiration for Fito- I admire his greatness as a composer and his lasting influence on Latin rock.”

This year, Karol G and J Balvin lead the list of nominees with nine nods each. Both are up for artist of the year, sharing the category with Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, Christian Nodal, Eslabon Armado, Maluma, Ozuna and Sech.

Hosted by Mexican actress Jacqueline Bracamontes, the 2021 Latin AMAs – live from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida – also featured performances from Ozuna, Maluma, Ricky Martin, Carlos Vives, Eslabon Armado and more.
