Barack Obama is closing out the year with a list of his top tunes from 2020, featuring picks from Bad Bunny, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Dua Lipa, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and more.

The former president says he got a little help from his daughter Sasha while making his playlist this year.

“Here are some of my favorite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to,” Obama wrote on Twitter on Saturday (Dec. 19).

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé, Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” featuring DaBaby and Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture” were among the tracks to make the list, which was rounded out by selections like Bruce Springsteen’s “Ghosts,” Bob Dylan’s “Goodbye Jimmy Reed” and Bad Bunny’s “La Difícil.” Travis Scott’s “Franchise” featuring Young Thug and M.I.A., Mac Miller’s “Blue World,” H.E.R.’s “Damage,” Phoebe Bridgers’ “Kyoto,” Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over” and Jeff Tweedy’s “Love Is the King” all made appearances on the 30-song collection.

In addition to his annual lists, last month, Obama shared a playlist of music that inspired him throughout his presidency.

Paul McCartney is simply having a “Wonderful Christmastime,” especially this year after his McCartney III album dropped on Friday (Dec. 18) and his Christmas song re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 in the Dec. 19-dated week.

The holiday jingle originally appeared on Wings’ final album Back to the Egg in 1979 and the deluxe reissue of his solo album McCartney II. He goes caroling with his former band at a Christmas party in the official music video.

Check out the lyrics and music video below.

The mood is right
The spirits up
We’re here tonight
And that’s enough

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The party’s on
The feeling’s here
That only comes
This time of year

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The choir of children sing their song
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding ooh ooh
Do-do, do-do, do-do, do

We’re simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The word is out
About the town
So lift a glass
Oh and don’t look down

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The choir of children sing their song
They practiced all year long
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong (dong)
Ding dong, ding dong (dong)
Ding dong, dong dong

The party’s on
The spirits up
We’re here tonight
And that’s enough (ohh)

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
We’re simply having a wonderful Christmastime

The mood is right
The spirits up
We’re here tonight
Oh and that’s enough (yeah)

We’re simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Wonderful Christmastime (Christmas)

To support music venues in need this holiday season, The Lumineers released a rendition of the festive classic “Silent Night” via Dualtone and Decca.

For one year, all proceeds from the song will benefit the National Independent Venue Association’s Emergency Relief Fund, which aims to save the music industry’s most important stages amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Venues have gone silent all across the country and world because of the pandemic,” the band said in a press statement. “Hope is on the horizon, and we believe we’ll be playing again in 2021. But independent venues need our help to survive that long. Don’t let the venues remain silent forever – save our stages. When you stream our song ‘Silent Night’ all proceeds will go towards supporting the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA).”

An accompanying video shows packed venues, now empty. Scenes of better times flash across the screen, with The Lumineers playing for a hyped-up crowd. The clip also raises awareness for severe challenges that independent venues across the nation are facing this year.
