Shed Seven are on the brink of securing their second U.K. No. 1 album of 2024 as their latest release, Liquid Gold, pulls ahead in this week’s fiercely competitive race for the top of the U.K. Official Albums Chart.

The U.K. rockers have widened their lead to 2,700 chart units over Bring Me The Horizon and their album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn, according to the midweek blast from the U.K. Official Charts Company.

Liquid Gold, which marks Shed Seven’s seventh studio album, has been a hit with fans, driving both physical sales and downloads. Their creative promotion, including limited edition CDs styled like retro concert tickets, has helped push them to the top.

Currently the best-selling and most-downloaded album of the week, the band are looking to repeat the chart success they achieved earlier this year with A Matter of Time, which also topped the U.K. Albums Chart. If they hold on, this will be the band’s second No. 1 album in just 10 months.

However, Bring Me The Horizon’s POST HUMAN: NeX GEn isn’t out of the running just yet. Though it trails in physical sales, the Sheffield band is performing exceptionally well on streaming platforms, where they’re outpacing Shed Seven. The album, which is tracking for a new peak at No. 2, initially debuted at No. 5 back in July but has gained significant traction after its release on vinyl and other physical formats this week.

In third place is Nines’ new album Quit While You’re Ahead, making an impressive debut as the rapper looks to land another Top 3 hit after his 2023 release, Crop Circle 2, which peaked at No. 2.

Close behind, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet, a former chart-topper, is sitting comfortably at No. 4 midweek, thanks to her strong streaming numbers, and could move higher as the week progresses.

Further down the chart, Mercury Prize winners Ezra Collective are holding firm at No. 6 with their jazz-influenced Dance, No One’s Watching, which is on track to become their first-ever U.K. Top 10 album. Also eyeing a Top 10 debut is Smitten, the latest release from Pale Waves, currently positioned at No. 7.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, Ed Sheeran makes a mark with his newly released + – = ÷ x Tour Collection, entering at No. 5, while Maxïmo Park’s Stream of Life is on course to debut at No. 9.

Shed Seven’s lead remains strong, but with streaming continuing to dominate the charts, the race for No. 1 is far from over. Stay tuned until the final chart positions are confirmed this Friday.

Travel with a dash of whimsy. Béis and Universal Pictures are partnering to release a magical collection that’ll add a dose of magic to your next travel adventure.

“I’ve always believed that travel is a magical experience, and collaborating with Wicked allowed us to really lean into that idea. Creating pieces that add a bit of magic to every journey,” Béis founder Shay Mitchell said in a statement announcing the collaboration on Wednesday (Oct. 2).

The Béis x Wicked collection, launching on Oct. 9 at 9 a.m. PT via the brand’s website, features four new silhouettes — the Wicked Weekender, Wicked Tote bags, a Wicked Backpack and Wicked Toiletry Kit — available in a Wicked-inspired green, pink with an iridescent, ombre finish. There’s also a classic black colorway.

Priced from $68-$378, the collection includes two bubble-inspired editions of Béis bestselling Rollers in an ombre finish, a new key leash, card wallet, a mirror and removeable Wicked-themed charms.

Wicked, a silver-screen adaptation of the hit musical, stars Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yao, Jonathan Bailey, Peter Dinklage and Jeff Goldblum. The film, directed by Jon M. Chu, shares the story of how Glinda the Good Witch and Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, became unlikely friends.

“We wanted to pay homage to the gorgeous Glindas who have come before me while also creating our own version,” Grande said of the character in a Vogue interview last month.

“My pop persona is such a characterized version on its own. Beauty really helped me deconstruct that person and find Glinda. I just wanted to live in the DNA and mindset of the character. Now I love the color pink and it feels like part of me. I think it’s something I’ll be forever intertwined with in a very special way.”

Before the film hits theaters on Nov. 22, Wicked fans can shop movie-inspired merch such as the Wicked x r.e.m. beauty collection, Wicked x Opi, Wicked x H&M, Wicked Lego sets, Wicked dolls, Wicked: The Game and Wicked Funko Pop! figurines.

Charlie Puth was convinced his shout-out on Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department was the result of an artificial intelligence hoax.

Swift’s Billboard 200-topping Tortured Poets featured the lyric, “We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” on its title track. The “Attention” singer sat down with SiriusXM this week, where he admitted that his first reaction after hearing the line was disbelief.

“It’s quite the compliment, by the way. I thought it was AI, because AI just seems to be everywhere,” he recalled, before adding, “Then, I heard a clip of it, and thought that’s way to smart for AI, that’s way too clever — the way that it rhymed.”

Of course, the major musical shout-out is not the only exciting thing to happen to Puth this year. The 32-year-old star tied the knot with Brooke Sansone tied the knot on Sept. 7 at Puth’s family home in Montecito, Calif..

“I love you Brooke…I always have,” Puth captioned his post announcing the news. “With you I am my very best. I promise I’ll love you everyday in this life, and even more when we move on to our next.” The couple have been dating since June 2022, though they both grew up in New Jersey — a fact they paid tribute to by using Bruce Springsteen’s “Jersey Girl” as their first-dance song, according to Vogue. After a year and three months together, Puth flew from Los Angeles to New York City and proposed to Sansone at 11:11 p.m. on Sept. 5, 2023.

As the impact of Hurricane Helene continues to affect communities in parts of Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, it is not only people who are impacted; animals and pets have been impacted too.

Miranda Lambert has always been a fierce advocate for helping animals, most notably through launching her MuttNation Foundation. The MuttNation Tractor Supply Relief for Rescues Fund has already donated nearly $100,000 to help relief efforts to aid pet shelters, pets and animals that have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.

On Oct. 2, Lambert posted a video on Instagram, sharing more about the MuttNation Foundation’s work to help animals affected by the natural disaster, and showing photos and videos highlighting the devastating impact Hurricane Helene has had on animal shelters.

“As y’all know, Hurricane Helene hit the Southeast hard. It’s hard to wrap my mind around the devastation that our neighbors in Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia are experiencing,” Lambert said in the Instagram video. “Our MuttNation Tractor Supply Relief For Rescues Fund has already provided nearly $100,000 to help animal shelters, pets and their families impacted by the hurricane, as well as support emergency response organizations.”

She added, “It’s a very dire situation because many of the shelters that got hit were already struggling with overcrowding. As we’ve been in contact with the shelters, we’re also hearing really heroic stories. People are risking their lives to help. It’s that type of courage that gives me hope that we’ll all get through this.”

Lambert also noted that they have set up fundraisers to go to the MuttNation Tractor Supply Relief For Rescues Fund, with 100% of donations going to disaster relief.

Lambert is not the only country artist aiding those impacted by the hurricane. East Tennessee native Morgan Wallen, through his Morgan Wallen Foundation, donated over $500,000 to the Red Cross to help in disaster recovery efforts, while North Carolina native Luke Combs told his fans on social media that he is working on a plan to aid recovery efforts.

The category four Hurricane Helene has left massive destruction across several states since making landfall on Sept. 27, washing out roads and rendering some communities nearly inaccessible to aid. According to CNN, more than 180 people have died across six states, as communities were affected by flash floods, landslides, high winds, heavy rain and wide-range power outages.

Five weeks after Incómodo debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart — and Regional Mexican Albums — Tito Double P celebrates his first No. 1 on any album ranking as his first studio album rises 2-1 to lead the Oct. 5-dated list.

Tito Double P’s 21-track effort dethrones label mate and cousin, Peso Pluma’s Éxodo from its 12-week domination, encompassing the majority of its chart run. Of the 15 weeks Peso’s fourth album album has been on the chart, it’s only missed No. 1 three times – and two of those weeks were at No. 2.

Incómodo, released on Double P Records, which Peso Pluma and George Prajin co-founded in 2023, lands at the summit on Top Latin Albums with 26,000 equivalent album units earned during the Sept. 20-26 tracking week in the U.S., according to Luminate: that’s a 2% gain from the prior week. That weekly unit sum equals to 38.8 million official U.S. streams for the songs on the album.

“Wow, I’m so honored,” the Mexican singer-songwriter told Billboard of the album’s debut. “I didn’t expect this but I’m so grateful that the fans are embracing my project like this.”

Top Latin Albums ranks the week’s most popular Latin albums by multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Each unit equals one album sale, 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams for a song on the album.

Incómodo also advances 2-1 on Regional Mexican Albums, for Tito’s first ruler there. Plus, one song from the album debuts on Latin Streaming Songs: “Escápate,” with Chino Pacas, arrives at No. 15 with 3.7 million on-demand official U.S. clicks, up 14%.

Omar Courtz Makes Billboard Album Charts Debut: Elsewhere, Puerto Rican Omar Courtz visits Top Latin Albums for the first time with Primera Musa, his maiden studio album which opens at No. 8 with 11,000 equivalent album units. Streaming contributes most of the 17-track effort’s first week sum in the U.S., equating to 15.4 million official streams.

It’s the first top 10 on an album chart for Courtz, who scored his first top 10 on a Billboard chart through the No. 7-peaking “Beachy,” with Daddy Yankee, on Latin Rhythm Airplay in July 2023.

Beyond its top 10 start on Top Latin Albums, Primera Musa also opens at No. 2 on Latin Rhythm Albums, Courtz’s highest-charting entry across all charts.

Tito Double P, Peso Pluma & Omar Courtz will speak at Latin Music Week Oct. 14-18 at the Fillmore Miami Beach. To register, please visit Billboardlatinmusicweek.com.

Westside Gunn said he was done making traditional studio albums, but he didn’t say he was going to stop making music. Actually, his exact words were, “It’s back to dumping.”

With his third and final installment of the Flygod trilogy still on the way, the Griselda boss announced a Nov. 1 release date for the “perfectly curated” Still Praying that he mentioned in the summer with a lengthy Instagram caption. “Westside Gunn ‘Still Praying,’ perfectly curated by WSGUNN, Nov 1st,” he wrote. “This is for Big Dump, Michelle, GDad, Virgil, Chinegun, Sly Green, Kutter, Shots, Bacon, behind the wall and Buffalo!!!!!! I promise y’all about to witness a new chapter in this sh—t starting now!!!!”

Adding, “Still praying is the beginning of a new era of Griselda Records I promise y’all I’m a make sure y’all never forget this sh—t, just support the art and watch how life change for the better. Flygod Is an Awesome God, when everybody thought i was just chillin I was actually curating the illest art (wrestling/fashion/music) I ever made, but now it’s time to show y’all everything I been working on, I’m a show y’all why it’ll never be another Westside Gunn.”

He revealed the album art last month in September, which features a picture of wrestler Sid Vicious, who recently passed away a few months ago in August, lending to Gunn’s infatuation with pro wrestling.

Gunn has teased a couple tracks back in January. First, his song “Chocolate Face” featuring DJ Khaled was used as TNA’s Slammiversary official theme song, and a few days later he tweeted out a snippet of “Big Dump” featuring Stove God Cooks. Although, neither song has been officially release yet.

Oasis warned fans to be “careful what you wish for” over the weekend, hinting that the long-awaited announcement of additional international dates for their reunion tour were on the horizon. Well, that tease became a reality on Monday morning (Sept. 30) when brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher revealed more dates for the North American leg of their 2025 world tour.

The run of shows will have the famously battling sibling playing a series of stadium shows in five North American cities beginning with two shows at Rogers Stadium in Toronto on Aug. 24 and 25, followed by an August 28 gig at Soldier Field in Chicago and two shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

The run of concerts is currently slated to wind down with a Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 show at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles and a Sept. 12 stop at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. A press release noted that the gigs will be Oasis first in North America in 16 years, with the band saying, “America. Oasis is coming. You have one last chance to prove that you loved us all along.” Cage the Elephant — led by singer Matt Shultz and his brother, guitarist Brad Shultz — will open all the new dates.

Oasis shocked the world in August when they revealed that they would put their differences aside and reunite for one of the most anticipated rock get-backs of all time. The first round of 2025 shows across the U.K. instantly sold out for the tour that is slated to kick off with two shows at Principality Stadium in Cardiff on July 4-5, followed by a five-night stand at Heaton Park in their native Manchester (July 11, 12, 16, 19, 20) and another five-night run at Wembley Stadium in London (July 25, 26, 30, August 2, 3).

The swing will then hit Dublin, Ireland for two shows at Croke Park (August 16, 17) before hopping the Atlantic for the North American shows and returning to Wembley for two more sold-out gigs on Sept. 27, 28.

The last time Oasis played the U.S. in 2008 on the Dig Out Your Soul tour they performed in 10,000-20,000 capacity arenas. The stadiums on their upcoming North American swing will accommodate between 45,000-80,000+ fans. According to the release announcing the new shows, plans are still underway for Oasis Live ’25 to hit “other continents outside of Europe and North America later next year.

Registration for a presale for the North American dates is open here through Tuesday (Oct. 1) at 8 a.m. ET, with a general onsale slated to begin on Friday (Oct. 4) at 12 p.m. ET local time here.

Holiday travel starts soon, and it’s expected to be a busier travel season than in previous years. According to a Marketwatch survey, more than 52% of adults plan to fly over the holidays, but skyrocketing ticket prices, the potential of massive flight cancellations (who can forget about last year’s travel nightmare?) and unreasonably long lines at the airport, traveling by plane can be especially stressful during the holidays. Thankfully, there’s another travel option that lets enjoy the luxuries of a private jet at a fraction of the cost.

Meet Aero, a semi-private plane with style. The brainchild of Uber co-founder Garrett Camp, Aero was originally founded as a software platform for booking jets but transitioned into the “Uber of private jets,” according to the company website.

Based in Los Angeles, Aero is run by a “seasoned team” of experts in aviation, hospitality and luxury marketing. Areo jets seat up to 16 passengers and pets are welcome aboard.

“Aero offers a level of service and discretion that is unique in the semi-private space,” Aero CEO Ben Klein tells Billboard. “From our private terminal at Van Nuys Airport, which is separate from the main FBOs on the field and only open to Aero guests, to our jets, which are configured with 16, first-class forward-facing seats, we are able to provide a level of privacy that is on par with chartering your jet.  Our jets have become particularly popular with music tours charters because of the ability for 16 people to have their own forward-facing seat (as opposed to being stuck on a sofa), our high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, and the largest luggage hold in the private jet space, which allows for a lot of bags and equipment.”

According to Klein, musicians and other celebrities “love flying Aero because of our level of service and discretion” in comparison to air travel options. “In addition to our scheduled flights to Cabo, Aspen, Sun Valley, and now Napa, our charter business is also very popular – especially for music tours.”

Aero prioritizes guests’ privacy, so while the company couldn’t divulge the recording stars that have chartered flights, Busta Rhymes and Tommy Lee are a couple of artists who have posted about Aero on social media.

Over the summer, Aero invited me and other reporters on a flight experience from Los Angeles to Napa to preview the company’s new flight route, and partnership with Stanly Ranch and Solage of Auberge Resorts Collection. The day trip included in-flight wine tasting and snacks from Erewhon (an L.A. market that went viral for its Hailey Bieber smoothie).

From Sept. 20 until November, Aero will offer flights between L.A. and Napa. Tickets start at $725 one way. Aero has partnered with Solage, Auberge Resorts Collection and Stanly Ranch, to offer travelers a quick flight to the wine country.

“Our community has expressed interest in visiting Napa, and we’ve worked hard to make their dream a reality, just in time for the harvest season,” Klein said in a news release announcing the new flights in August. “Landing next to downtown Napa just over an hour after departing Los Angeles on a scheduled flight is extremely rare. Typically, this is only possible by flying private. Aero’s new service to wine country is just one example of our strategic approach to growth in 2024: we’re listening to feedback from the market and responding with innovative solutions. Guests can now fly to difficult-to-reach premier leisure destinations during peak seasonal time frames.”

Madonna is loving Emilia Pérez.

The Jacques Audiard-directed film, in which Selena Gomez appears as Jessi Del Monte, held a New York Film Festival screening at Alice Tully Hall of the Lincoln Center on Monday night (Sept. 30), and after the event, the Queen of Pop spent time with the cast and choreographer, Damien Jalet.

In a photo posted by Netflix to Instagram, Madonna is seen smiling alongside the Emilia Pérez crew, and giving Jalet a hug — calling the dancer and choreographer a “genius” on her Instagram Stories.

She continued the praise for the film on her Stories, deeming Emilia Pérez a “masterpiece” with “unbelievable performances.” See her thoughts here.

This past spring, Gomez and castmates Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón and Adriana Paz collectively won the best actress award at Cannes Film Festival for their work in Emilia Pérez.

The Spanish-language musical — which follows a Mexican drug lord (Gascón) embracing her true identity as a woman, will premiere in select theaters in other countries in November, as well as hit Netflix in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. on Nov. 13.

In other Gomez news, the star recently became a billionaire. According to a report from Bloomberg published Friday (Sept. 6), Gomez now has an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion, attributing the “vast bulk” of her wealth to the success of her popular Rare Beauty cosmetics business.
