A celebratory tour from Lauryn Hill and The Fugees scheduled to take place throughout the summer and fall has been canceled, according to Variety.

Per the publication, ticket holders received messages from Live Nation on Tuesday (Aug. 6) that reads, “Your event has been canceled. A refund will be on its way to your account soon.” At the time of publishing, no reason for the cancelation has been given.

The 21-date trek was set to kick off on Friday (Aug. 9) in Tampa, Fla., and stretch throughout the next few months, wrapping up on Oct. 22 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The tour, which was scheduled to reunite Hill with The Fugees to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Billboard 200 No. 1 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, was also to feature music from The Fugees’ No. 1 album The Score, with Hill’s son YG Marley as the support act.

The Miseducation Anniversary Tour was previously postponed in November after Hill revealed that she was struggling with vocal issues. “As many of you may know, I’ve been battling serious vocal strain for the past month. I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone, but this can be detrimental to the body when taken in large amounts over long periods of time,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “In order to prevent any long term negative affect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medication completely.”

Now that we know Taylor Swift is the leading nominee at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, the next question is: What might she surprise-announce at the Sept. 10 ceremony?

It was two years ago when Swift surprised the 2022 VMAs audience by announcing that a brand-new studio album called Midnights would arrive in October. Then earlier this year, she used the 2024 Grammys stage to announce that The Tortured Poets Department was on the way.

Kehlani is embracing herself wholeheartedly.

The superstar — who uses she/they pronouns — appears on the latest Stylecaster digital cover rocking a tailored, pinstripe suit and full glam makeup, complete with a mustache. The “Honey” singer has been a longtime open book about their sexuality, but in the publication’s interview, she says she would have been open sooner.

“It’s dope to see people now who are in that fluidity and people of that expression be able to exist and make music and everything be celebrated. …Younger me would probably have come to terms more quickly with my non-binary identity and how I present,” they shared.

As a result, Kehlani will continue to be living authentically. “I’m going to exist loudly,” she said. “And if it rocks, it rocks.”

Back in 2018, Kehlani clarified their sexuality to fans. “cuz i keep geddin asked.. i’m queer,” she said at the time. “not bi, not straight. i’m attracted to women, men, REALLY attracted to queer men, non binary people, intersex people, trans people. lil poly pansexual papi hello good morning. does that answer your questions?”

When asked why she chooses to use the word “queer” rather than “gay,” Kehlani explained, “i felt gay always insisted there was still a line drawn as to which ‘label’ of human i was attracted when i really jus be walking around thinking ERRYBODY FINE.”

It’s official! LISA and Rosalía’s collaboration, “New Woman,” is arriving this month.

The superstar duo took to Instagram to share the fun cover art for the track, featuring the two singers sitting in lawn chairs with racetrack-inspired outfits. The caption indicates that the song will be arriving on August 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

See the post here.

Earlier this week, LISA began teasing the collaboration. In a video posted to TikTok, a pink-haired LISA — whose face isn’t visible — shows off a star-shaped pendant around her neck. “Bangin’ it, bangin’ it, wanna crack these walls/ Bangin’ it, bangin’ it, wanna echo through the halls,” she sings over a mid-tempo, Y2K-inspired beat. “Pullin’ up, fresh face, brand new día.”

The teasers come a little over a month after the K-pop icon stepped into a new phase of her solo career outside of BLACKPINK with “Rockstar,” which debuted at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200, as well as became LISA’s first-ever No. 1 hit on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

“Rockstar” also marked LISA’s first release since signing with RCA Records to support her solo endeavors, inking a deal in partnership with her own LLOUD company that will allow her to retain ownership of her master recordings. “I’m super excited to be joining the RCA family, and I am confident they are the best team to create a bigger movement in my solo career,” she said in a statement in April. “Looking forward to showing the world everything we have been preparing.”

From a 2018 visit at the Oval Office to a 2022 Mar-A-Lago dinner, Ye — formerly Kanye West — and Donald Trump have been linked quite a bit over the years.

With 92 days and counting until Election Day, Trump’s campaigning made a stop by Adin Ross’ Kick stream on Monday afternoon (Aug. 5) with a select group of Trump fans on hand and donning red MAGA hats.

Ross and Trump engaged in a quick hits segment where 45 gave his unbridled opinion on a litany of political figures, pop-culture stars and more.

One of the photos that popped up happened to be Kanye West, and DT didn’t know where to start with Yeezy, but decided to channel Avril Lavigne’s 2002 Grammy-nominated hit with his description of Ye.

“He’s a very complicated,” Trump said of West. “Let’s say complicated because he is. He’s a really nice guy, but he can get some people into trouble. And he can get some other people. He’s got a good heart — he does, he does, but he’s complicated.”

Fans were shocked to hear Trump speak about Ye, but some didn’t think he was far off in his surface level description.

“Trump is honestly dead on target with this,” one person wrote while another chimed in on X: “Every time Trump speaks about Kanye he gives nothing but love to him.”

Trump and West have been intertwined at times throughout the last decade. The former president sent his well-wishes to Kanye and Kim Kardashian after they tied the knot in 2014.

Ye had a fake Trump cast in the “Famous” video and later professed he would’ve voted for him in the 2016 election if he had voted.

Their relationship went to another level in 2018 when West pulled up to the White House in a red Make America Great Again hat, which he rocked a few weeks prior while performing on Saturday Night Live.

“It was something about when I put this hat on that made me feel like Superman. You made a Superman — that’s my favorite superhero — you made a Superman cape,” Ye told reporters at the Oval Office in 2018. “I think it’s the bravery that helps you beat this game called life. They tried to scare me into not wearing this hat — my own friends. This hat, it gives me power in a certain way.”

Ye went head-to-head with Donald Trump and Joe Biden in a failed bid to win the 2020 Presidential Election. The tenor of their friendship changed in 2022 when West pulled up to a Mar-A-Lago dinner at Trump’s club with his controversial political affiliate Nick Fuentes.

Per NBC, West criticized Trump for not covering the legal bills of those arrested during the Jan. 6 riots at the Capitol and asked the former president to be his running mate in ’24.

Elsewhere in Trump’s interview with Adin Ross, he was gifted a free Cyber Truck and Rolex watch from the streamer, which Rolling Stone speculates could be a violation of FEC rules.

K-pop stocks were the hardest hit music stocks on Monday (Aug. 5) as global markets continued Friday’s decline in the U.S. with major selloffs.

Four K-pop companies — HYBE, SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment — fell an average of 8.8% on Monday, while a major South Korean stock index, the KOSPI composite index, had its worst day since 2008 by also falling 8.8%. HYBE declined 5.9% while the others fell between 9.6% and 9.8%. South Korean stocks were effectively catching up to the rest of the world on Monday: trading in Seoul had closed by the time a disappointing U.S. jobs report was released Friday morning, stoking fears of a possible recession.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 3.4% to 16,200.08, the S&P 500 dropped 3.0% to 5,186.33 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 2.6%, with the latter two suffering their deepest losses since September 2022. In Japan, the Nikkei Stock Average plummeted 12.4%, its worst day since 1987

Some of the biggest companies were among the worst performers. Chipmaker Nvidia, once a high-flying stock buoyed by AI investors, dropped 6.4% on Monday. Apple fell 4.8%. Amazon dropped 4.1%.

The 20-company Billboard Global Music Index (BGMI) fared a bit better than the major indexes, dropping 2.0% to 1,705.25 despite the large K-pop declines.

Outside K-pop, SiriusXM fell 4.1% to $3.01, adding to last week’s 15.6% decline following second-quarter earnings results that showed the company lost 173,000 satellite radio subscribers in the period ended June 30. Live Nation fell 3.5% to $88.06. Sphere Entertainment dropped 2.8% to $38.25.

The BGMI’s most valuable companies fared better. Universal Music Group was flat at 21.44 euros ($23.50). Spotify declined 2.1% to $324.03. Warner Music Group, which releases earnings on Wednesday (Aug. 7), dropped 2.4% to $27.59. German concert promoter CTS Eventim slid 1.3% to 75.50 euros ($82.74).
