Young Miko made her grand debut at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, where she brought her blazing Puerto Rican flow to the desert on Friday (April 12).

At 4:45 p.m. Pacific Time—just as a packed crowd chanted “Miko, Miko”—the breakthrough singer and rapper opened the fest with a thumping performance of “Lisa,” followed by a chill version of “Tempo,” her track with Marshmello. Accompanied by a live band and her Boricuan swag, Miko was casually dressed in baggy denim shorts, a tie-dye muscle tee, white sneakers, and metallic sunglasses, as she graced the stage from side to side.

“Coachella, it’s so exciting to be here, puñeta!” the artist exclaimed. “We’re going to have a great time. I’m here with a group of talented people. It’s my first time here with you, let’s f—-ing get it!”

On the stage, a large white heart and a boombox that displayed cool visuals—simple but cool. The real star of the night, however, was Miko’s effortless vocals that transitioned from sugary singing vocals to sensual rap bars.

Her “corillo” of musicians didn’t stay behind.

In songs such as “Wiggy,” “tres tristes tragos,” and “curita,” the band delivered head-swaying jam sessions backed by deep bass beats, hard-hitting drums, and electric guitar riffs.

During her set, Miko—who had no special guests on day one—also performed some of the biggest reggaeton titles that made her a household name: the Bad Bunny-assisted “Fina;” “ID” with Jowell y Randy; “Chulo” in collab with Bad Gyal and Tokischa; and her Bizarrap session “Young Miko: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 58.”

“Coachella, I can’t thank you enough for having me here. What a beautiful vibe under the sun with all of you. We’re having a great time. This is good heat. From PR to the world, I’m Young Miko,” she said ahead of wrapping up her electrifying set with her Feid-assisted “Classy 101,” which earned her first Billboard Hot 100 entry last summer.

The Cleaning POREfessionals Mini Set

Within the kit you’ll find Scrub Daddy’s first beauty product: a microfiber towel that looks to take the strong cleaning forces of the sponge to help gently clean your face. The material is made from a soft material to make sure it lifts up makeup and dirt without stripping your skin.

You’ll also receive a clay mask that, once applied, looks to draw out dirt and oil from pores to leave behind a cleaner, more glowing appearance. The primer can be applied as a base or on top of makeup and it looks to shrink the appearance of pores while minimizing lines on the face.

This isn’t the first unique collaboration that the makeup brand has released — Benefit Cosmetics put out limited edition Crocs (that are now sold-out) as well as a home decor collab with PB Teen in 2018.

Additionally, with “Beautiful Things” at No. 1 and “Lose Control” at No. 2, Warner boasts the to two titles on Adult Pop Airplay simultaneously for the time.

(The Adult Pop Airplay chart, which began in Billboard’s pages in March 1996, ranks songs by weekly plays on 80 adult top 40 radio stations monitored by Mediabase, with data provided to Billboard by Luminate.)

The Adult Pop Airplay coronation for “Beautiful Things” is the song’s latest chart feat. It has ruled the Billboard Global Excl. It concurrently climbs to No. 3 on Pop Airplay.

“Beautiful Things,” which Boone co-wrote, and those two tracks are on his debut LP, Fireworks & Rollerblades, released April 5.

“My two other songs that have done well, I wasn’t prepared for them,” the Washington native, who claims 6.8 million TikTok followers, recently told Billboard. “I teased them without even having the song[s] fully ready. Park Boram, a breakout TV singing competition star who parlayed her powerful vocals into a decade in the K-pop industry, died Tuesday (April 11), according to a confirmation from her record label in Korea. Police are currently investigating the cause of death. She was 30.

Park’s agency Xanadu Entertainment shared the news of the singer-songwriter-actor’s sudden death on Friday (April 12) in Korea and said the cause of death was under investigation by police. The star was reportedly working on new music after releasing two new songs earlier this year.

Park Boram first impacted the K-pop industry at age 17, competing in the 2010 singing competition series Super Star K2 as a high school student with a love of R&B music and becoming one of the youngest finalists before finishing in eighth place. She made her official debut on the scene on Aug. 7, 2014, with the single “Beautiful,” featuring popular rapper Zico, which peaked at No. 2 on Korea’s local Gaon singles chart and won her an Artist of the Year honor for the chart’s top song of August at the 2014 Gaon Chart Music Awards. The track and music video was notably semi-autobiographical in detailing Park’s lengths to be “Beautiful,” including exercising and extreme dieting to lose nearly 70 pounds reportedly ahead of her debut.

The singer later shared her satisfaction with NPR in 2016, adding how her then-management supported her many changes ahead of the single release. “I think a lot of people, after listening to this song, were motivated to exercise more, lose weight and diet,” she told Elise Hu for the Weekend Edition Sunday show. “I think a big reason is because I put my story into it. Like, one banana, two eggs — eating just that, and you see the results in me, and that was motivating for people.”

Park released her first EP, Celepretty, in April 2015, which included “Beautiful” and through its title track single also secured another top 10 hit.

During her decade of singing, Park Boram was also known for her impactful contributions to Korean drama soundtracks like “Hyehwadong (or Sangmundong)” for the K-drama Reply 1988, which has boasted more than 16.5 million streams on Spotify since its 2015 release, or “Please Say Something Even Though I Know It’s a Lie” for the W soundtrack, which has nearly 12 million Spotify streams since 2016. Park collaborated with a range of different artists in Korea, including singer-songwriter Eric Nam, boy band member Park Kyung, balladeer Parc Jae Jung and rapper Lil Boi, and just this past February, she reunited with the winner of SuperStar K2, chart-topping vocalist Huh Gak, for their duet “I Hope.”

Following “I Hope,” Park Boram released the single “I Miss You” on April 3 as part of a music cover project. It was previously shared that the star was working on an album celebrating her upcoming 10th anniversary for this summer.
