Ice Cube is a big fan of Caitlin Clark — so much so that the entrepreneur and rapper’s Big3 League offered the 22-year-old college basketball star a deal worth $5 million. But Cube told The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday (March 27) that they haven’t heard back from Clark’s team just yet.

Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz’s Big3 League was founded in 2017 and features 12 teams who play in a three-on-three format. Clark was offered a contract for eight regular season games and potentially two playoff games if her team qualifies.

While the Big3 says the offer wouldn’t interfere with Clark’s position in the WNBA draft, Cube noted that Clark’s team hasn’t responded yet. “They have it and if they wanna sign it, we’ll be happy to have her play in the Big3,” Cube noted during The Pat McAfee Show.

“This is a special situation, a special player that’s moving the needle in a lot of different areas, you know, ratings, attendance, ticket sales,” Cube added. “Of course, our sponsors are very interested in a player like this. This is our first look at planning to go after this aggressively because we know it would move the needle in the league and that’s where we wanna be.”

The countdown reached Times Square nine months early on Tuesday night (March 26), where thousands of people gathered at the iconic tourist destination, not to watch the famous New Year’s Eve ball drop but the Colombian superstar Shakira.

The artist surprised her followers with a “pop-up” concert announced just hours earlier on her social media, and about 40,000 fans, according to figures provided by the organizers, responded to her call to celebrate her first LP in seven years, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, released last Friday.

A huge electronic billboard that covered part of a skyscraper announced the free show with a clock counting down to its start. At around 7:30 p.m. ET, the crowd enthusiastically chanted from ten to zero and two large doors hidden in the jumbotron opened to reveal the TSX Stage, and Shakira opening with her No. 1 Hot 100 hit “Hips Don’t Lie.”

“Hola New York! Oh my God, this is amazing, absolutely insane,” she said immediately after in Spanglish. It’s so awesome to see you again, to sing for you… Nothing compares to this. Thank you so much for all the love that you’ve been giving me this week during the release of my new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. And thank you, thank you, thank you for showing up.”  

Dressed in black pants and top with silver embellishments, the self-proclaimed She-Wolf delighted the crowd by singing live — along with a band and a group of dancers — songs such as “Te Felicito”, “TQM”, “Cómo Dónde y Cuándo” and “Puntería”, before closing with the mega hit “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.”

“I’m happy to be here surrounded by my Latin people,” said the 14-times Latin Grammy and three-times Grammy winner. “Thank you New York. Until next time. I love you very much.”

Tuesday’s show was co-produced by TSX Entertainment, with presenting partners ViX, Vinfast and Sony Music Latin. It took place the day after Shakira’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she performed “Puntería” and spoke candidly about her former relationship with soccer star Gerard Piqué, and why it took her so long to release a new LP since 2017’s El Dorado. “Now I’m husband-less,” the She-Wolf declared. (Shakira and Piqué — who announced their split in 2022 — never married during their 11-year relationship, but share two sons.) “The husband was dragging me down. Now I’m free. Now I can actually work.”

The cameras are going back up for Quiet on Set. A fifth episode of the hit docuseries will air on ID and stream on Max next month, the cable network announced Tuesday (March 26).

Premiering April 7, Quiet on Set: Breaking the Silence will feature interviews with former Nickelodeon stars Drake Bell, Giovonnie Samuels, Bryan Hearne and Hearne’s mother, Tracey Brown.

Journalist Soledad O’Brien will moderate the episode, Variety reports.

Breaking the Silence will dig “deeper into the crucial conversations the docuseries ignited and exploring the lingering questions left in their wake to provide further insight from the brave voices who’ve spoken out previously and those who are coming forward again,” Jason Sarlanis, president of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN, said in a statement Tuesday, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Investigation Discovery will re-air Quiet on Set Saturday, but if you don’t feel like waiting, you can stream the docuseries on Max before the new episode drops next month.

According to a press release from ID, the documentary series offers “unprecedented access to key cast members, writers, and crew spanning Schneider’s popular series at Nickelodeon,” including All That cast members Giovonnie Samuels, Kyle Sullivan, Bryan Hearne, Katrina Johnson and director Virgil Fabian, The Amanda Show writers Jenny Kilgen and Christy Stratton, Alexa Nikolas from Zoey 101 in addition to cast and crew from iCarly, Sam & Cat, Victorious and other Nickelodeon icons such as Marc Summers former host of Double Dare.

“Everything that happened on the shows Dan ran was carefully scrutinized by dozens of involved adults, and approved by the network,” a rep for Schneider said in a statement to Variety. “If there was an actual problem with the scenes that some people, now years later are ‘sexualizing,’ they would be taken down, but they are not, they are aired constantly all over the world today still, enjoyed by both kids and parents.”

Schneider also sat down for an interview published by The Hollywood Reporter.

The docuseries, which premiered on March 17 and 18, explores several shows created by Dan Schneider, who has since denied claims made against him in the documentary, including sexualizing children and cultivating a toxic work environment.

Quiet on Set premiered as a four-part docuseries aimed at exposing the “toxic and dangerous culture” and alleged abuse on the sets of several of Nickelodeon’s hit series. Clips from the docuseries continue to go viral all on TikTok, and a record 16 million viewers watched Quiet on Set across ID and Max since its premiere.

Bell, of the Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show and All That, appears in the documentary’s third episode. In the documentary, Bell accuses former Nickelodeon acting and dialogue coach Brian Peck of sexual abuse.

In August 2003, Peck was arrested on sexual abuse charges including performing a lewd act on a child. The victim was one of the children that Peck was coaching and was molested at his home for more than six months, according to the LAPD. Peck was sentenced to 16 months for child molestation and ordered to register as a sex offender.

Clips from the documentary, including Bell’s story, have received millions of views on TikTok.

“My name is Drake bell, and I came here to tell my story. I have never told my story publicly,” Bell shares in the documentary.

Quiet on Set is directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz. The series is produced by Maxine Productions and Sony Pictures Television.
