As a Detroit native himself, Skilla Baby has his thoughts on the best rappers from the city.

The musician joined the This Is Keke Palmer podcast as a guest recently, where he disagreed with the notion that Eminem is the best rapper from Detroit. “I don’t know because if you think number-wise Eminem is the best Detroit rapper,” Skilla explained. “But the gag is nobody would say that in Detroit.”

Palmer replied in surprise, “Now that’s tea, boo,” before asking him who his “top rappers” are.

“I don’t know because everybody had their turn being Detroit’s favorite rapper,” he responded. “Sada Baby had his turn, Tee Grizzley had a turn, [42] Dugg had a turn, Babyface Ray had a turn. Veeze is one of Detroit’s best rappers now. Baby Smoove, Big Kizz – a lot of artists had their turn. Rocaine… Everybody had their turn being the best in the city, but what we lack is consistency. Nobody’s consistently been Detroit’s best rapper.”

He concluded, “Nobody in Detroit plays Eminem right now,” before adding, “I was an Eminem fan as a kid. I’m a fan of Eminem but do we consider him our best rapper? I don’t think Detroit does.”

Eminem is about to release his 12th studio album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce), on July 12. The album is led by single “Houdini,” which earned him his highest-charting Hot 100 hit of the decade, as the track debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

E.l.f. Cosmetics has prevailed in creating high-end beauty products with a drugstore price tag including the TikTok viral gel primer that has social media praising its “non-sticky” formula for only $10. Their latest drop though is a night face oil that has reviewers applauding its luxurious ingredients including skin cell boosting retinoid — and did we mention it’s under $20?

Social media has already been clamoring to get their hands on the new e.l.f. drop and since Target is exclusively carrying Blue-ty Sleep Night Oil Facial Treatment, for now, you’re limited in where you can buy the skincare essential online. More than 59 million videos on TikTok have been made under the search term Elf Sleep Night Oil, with users giving a review of the formula’s feel and benefits.

TikToker @be.you.i.am.me has claimed “e.l.f. has done it again” in a video that shows off the texture and application of the face oil, which has already gathered a couple thousand views (and counting).

Keep reading to learn more and buy the e.l.f. night oil online.

E.l.f. Skin Youth Boosting Blue-ty Sleep Night Oil Facial Treatment

E.l.f.’s new Blue-ty Sleep Night Oil has earned a 4.8 star rating on Target for its “velvety soft” results that reviewers claim “leaves skin glowing in the morning” after application. It’s formulated with vegan ingredients including blueberry extract and 1% of retinoid to help smooth, hydrate and even your skin. As a skincare product with retinoid, your skin will be more sensitive to UV rays, which means you’ll want to make sure to apply sunscreen before exposing your skin to the sun.

The makeup brand has also become a reliable source for dupes on designer makeup products including Dior’s lip oil. While e.l.f. cosmetics aims to provide affordable options that are cruelty-free, the Internet has proven that the love for the brand goes beyond their ability to make budget-friendly skincare and makeup alternatives.

Even celebrities have given their stamp of approval to the e.l.f. cosmetics with Meghan Trainer making an appearance alongside Judge Judy in a 2024 Superbowl commercial for the beauty brand.

Summerfest 2024 kicked off on June 20 at American Family Insurance Amphitheater in Milwaukee, Wisc., and some of the biggest stars showed up on stage and off.

Weekend one’s headliners included Kane Brown with Kameron Marlowe and Nightly; Motley Crüe with Seether and Buckcherry; and SZA with Aminé. Goo Goo Dolls, Black Pumas, Chelsea Cutler, Toosii, Taking Back Sunday, David Kushner, Brittany Howard and Kevin Kaarl were also among the first weekend’s performers.

In the crowd, Kim Kardashian was seen watching SZA’s set with her 11-year-old daughter, North West. Due to a storm, the “Kill Bill” superstar’s set was delayed by more than an hour, but according to local news reports, the singer eventually took the stage to perform her set at around 10:15 p.m.

Back in 1993, 2Pac sat down with The Source for an interview and the late rapper made some disparaging remarks about music legend Quincy Jones.  “All he does is stick his d—k in white b—es and make f—ed up kids,” Pac said at the time.

This infuriated a then 17-year-old Rashida Jones, so much so that she wrote an open letter to the magazine in defense of her father. In her letter she tore into Shakur’s interview, starting it off by saying, “Because I am the youngest of Quincy Jones’ six daughters, I cannot view this article or this man without bias [“War Stories” by Kim Green, Aug, ’93]. But I do think that anyone who reads this article would be shocked by his ignorance and lack of respect for his people.”

Adding, “To demean a man like Quincy Jones, a man who came from the ghetto of Chicago and through his talent and perseverance became a living music legend, demeans the whole progress of African Americans.” She then ended her letter by saying, “Where the hell would you be if Black people like him hadn’t paved the way for you to even have the opportunity to express yourself? I don’t see you fighting for you race. In my Opinion, you’re destroying it and shitting all over your people.”

The actress recalled this incident in a recent profile with The New Yorker and was asked by writer Michael Schulman how their relationship evolved after the letter and once he started dating her older sister Kidada Jones. “Furious! So precocious, so self-righteous. Yeah, I was so mad,” she answered. “It was a new perspective to me. I kind of understand the nuance more now that I’m older. It just felt like a completely unwarranted attack.”

She then added that she was interning at Warner Bros. Records when she wrote the letter. “I printed it off my word processor and put it in an envelope and sent it to The Source,” she recalled. “I was interning at Warner Bros. Records that summer, so I think I wrote it there. Maybe I had the other intern proof it for me.” The actress then said ‘Pac mistook her older sister Kidada for her in New York and apologized, saying, “And then my sister was out somewhere in New York, and Tupac came up to apologize to her, because he thought it was me.”

She continued by saying, “It resolved itself really nicely, because when I met him, he immediately apologized to me, immediately apologized to my dad. We sat down and had a really good conversation about it, and then he was family.”

Rashida took the experience as a lesson, saying, “That was an early lesson for me, because I have been self-righteous in my life, and I really have worked hard to stop looking at things in a binary way. We’re so flawed and so complicated.”

Quincy wasn’t a fan of the late rapper dating his daughter either, telling The New York Times in 2012 that he “wasn’t happy at first.”

But, eventually they mended fences and squashed things. “He’d attacked me for having all these white wives. And my daughter Rashida, who was at Harvard, wrote a letter to The Source taking him apart,” he said. “I remember one night I was dropping Rashida at Jerry’s delicatessen, and Tupac was talking to Kidada because he was falling in love with her then. Like an idiot, I went over to him, put two arms on his shoulders and said, ‘Pac, we gotta sit down and talk, man.’”

Adding, “If he had had a gun, I would’ve been done. But we talked. He apologized. We became very close after that.”

Rashida would go on to forge a friendship with Shakur and even wrote a paper on him during her junior year of college.

Wynonna Judd has a career that’s so expansive, it’s only fitting that Las Vegas be the place she celebrates 40 years in country music with three greatest hits shows in December.

The 60-year-old singer-songwriter announced Monday (July 8) that she’s headed to Sin City for a trio of concerts Dec. 11, 13 and 14 at The Venetian Resort. Why? As she puts it, “Sometimes you just need to throw a big party for yourself!”

“This is a milestone year for me,” Judd added in a triumphant post on Instagram, reminiscing on her time in The Judds with mother Naomi Judd. “Mom and I played our very first show in 1984, which means I’ve been performing for 40 years. 🤯 That’s more than half of my life! ‘The Greatest Hits’ in Las Vegas celebration is a chance for the fans and I to celebrate together. You all have been with me for so long and my hope is that everyone will get to hear their favorite song{s}.”

“How many hits can we fit into one show? LET’S FIND OUT!!!!!! 🤩🎶🎰🎲,” she added, noting that a presale for her Wynation Fan Club starts 10 a.m. PT Tuesday (July 9) followed by a general sale Friday (July 12).

The “To Be Loved By You” musician also shared a festive video in honor of the news. In the clip, she joins her husband Cactus Moser outside in her back yard — where a donkey and other farm animals roam about — for a spontaneous game of roulette.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my 40 years in country music than playing in Vegas,” she says at the end of the video.

In today’s episode of ‘How It Went Down,’ Tinashe reveals how she created “Nasty,” from the beat to the music video. She shares her reactions to the memes and the song’s virality, discusses whether she’s found someone to “match her freak,” and more!

Tinashe:

Hey, I’m Tinashe and this is How It Went Down for my song “Nasty.” I really wanted to create a song that was fun, that had this confident energy about it. So I thought that there was no better song than to write something that kind of came from this persona that I’ve created in my mind. Nasty Nashe is this character that I like to tap into when I’m feeling really confident and braggadocious and hot and sexy. So I wanted to write a song from that perspective, that kind of felt like that. So I thought, why not just write a song named “Nasty.” The session for “Nasty” happened over a couple of times. The first session that we did, we worked on the beat with Ricky Reed made this kind of two chord section that went from this minor chord to this major chord section, which I really loved. I took that beat home with me and just kind of started thinking about ideas. And then I was driving in my car and I was recording myself singing and vibing and free-styling on the beats. And then all of a sudden, I came up with “I’ve been a nasty girl, nasty. Is somebody gonna match my freak?” It really just felt instinctual. It was just something that kind of came to me at the time. So I listened to that recording, I took it to the studio and I was like, I think I got an idea. When I’m in the studio, I like to be comfortable. I like to be just in my zone. I don’t want too many distractions.

Taylor Swift has been dazzling audiences with bejeweled outfit changes throughout her record-breaking Eras tour. With the addition of The Tortured Poets Department to her setlist, that also brought in new costumes for Swifties to gawk and admire. Unless you’ve scored tickets to the European leg of the Eras tour, you’ll have to wait until the 34-year-old kicks off her second and final U.S. portion of the tour, but to help you pass the time, a new sticker book is bringing a new level of interactiveness beyond watching the movie version of the Eras tour and making friendship bracelets.

The unofficial Swiftie merch joins the ever-growing list of Taylor Swift books you can line your shelves with. Rather than delve into the history of the Grammy-winner’s fashion though, this sticker book gives you the chance to dress the popstar up in outfits of your choosing.

While the Swift-inspired book doesn’t come out until October 1, Amazon and Barnes & Noble are giving you the chance to preorder the book — and for up to 10% off. Once you preorder it, you’ll be guaranteed a copy delivered to your door the moment it’s released.

The stickers are also reusable, which means you can create more than one “fearless” outfit each time you flip it open.

On July 6, Colombia’s national team scored a stunning 5-0 victory over Panama in the quarterfinals of the Conmebol Copa América 2024.

Now, the Colombian team will face Uruguay on July 10 at 8pm ET at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC for a berth in the final and a chance to win the men’s soccer championship title.

Over the course of this journey, and throughout the history of Colombian soccer, music has been a constant source of inspiration for both the team and their fans. Inspired by this great triumph, we present five emblematic songs to encourage the national team in the next stage.

Although there are countless songs dedicated to the Colombian tricolor over the years, some odes have remained with the Colombian team’s fans, becoming timeless hits to cheer every time they play a game.

The list includes the official anthem for the Copa América 2024: “El Ritmo Que Nos Une” by Ryan Castro with SOG and the Colombia national team. In fact, two of the players, striker Luis Diaz and midfielder Juan Fernando Quintero, make their debut in the song by rapping some lines, something that has not been seen before. In addition, the entire team can be seen in the music video.

Other favorites include the so-called second Colombian anthem, the cumbia “Colombia Tierra Querida” by Lucho Bermudez, and the salsa choke “Ras Tas Tas,” which became popular during the 2014 World Cup and is now here to stay.

Here, we recommend five songs to celebrate Colombia’s national soccer team:

Tyga and Sabrina Claudio have sparked dating rumors as the newest musical power couple. T-Raww and the 27-year-old R&B singer posed for a series of intimate photos on the beach, which sent their fans into a frenzy on Monday afternoon (July 8) coming off the holiday weekend.

The three pictures dropped out of the sky as a joint post to both Tyga and Sabrina’s Instagram pages without a caption, leaving fans’ interpretations to the imagination.

Some were taken aback by the unlikely couple while others in the IG comments assumed this was a ploy to drum up interest for an upcoming collaboration between the two. Neither artist has confirmed their relationship status.

“I know for a FACT my girl Sabrina didn’t just pop out with lame ahh Tyga this better be a PR move or something,” one person wrote to X. Blogger Ken Barbie referenced Tyga’s ex Kylie Jenner: “Lord I thought Tyga was back with Kylie for about 3 seconds.”

Another fan dramatically claimed that the news of Tyga and Claudio possibly dating “ruined” their day.

The “Rack City” rapper hasn’t been shying about dating in the spotlight throughout his career. He dated the aforementioned beauty mogul Kylie Jenner from 2015 to 2017.

Tyga also dated model Camaryn Swanson and he was arrested in Los Angeles in late 2021 on felony domestic violence charges for allegedly beating her following a dispute, but charges were eventually dropped by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, per TMZ.

On the music side, Tyga teamed up with fellow California native 310babii on “Uh Huh” in June while Sabrina Claudio joined forces alongside Marshmello for their “Don’t Speak” single.
