The Eras Tour is a celebration of all 10 of the studio albums Swift has released since 2006. In 2022, Swift shared a poster advertising the tour’s initial 27-date U.S. leg on Instagram featuring a collage of photos of herself through the years, from the time of her self-titled debut to Midnights, which dropped less than two weeks prior to the tour news.

“I wanted to tell you something that I’ve been so excited about for a really long time. I’ve been planning for ages and I finally get to tell you: I’m going back on tour,” Swift said on GMA, announcing the news. “The tour is called the Eras tour and it’s a journey through all of the musical eras of my career.”

Paramore announced Thursday (Jan. 4) that they are dropping out of this year’s iHeartRadio ALTer EGO show “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

“The band apologizes for any inconvenience,” the group wrote in their statement on Instagram Stories, which you can read here.

Other than the statement on Stories, Paramore’s Instagram account has been wiped clean, leaving fans to speculate about what the “unforeseen circumstances” could be and how they might affect the future of the band.

In the meantime, Fall Out Boy will step in as a new addition to the lineup for the concert, taking place Jan. 13 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

“We are thrilled to join the 2024 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO lineup and celebrate our most recent album So Much (For) Stardust,” Fall Out Boy wrote in a press statement. “We are looking forward to closing out an incredible night of music in advance of our upcoming ‘So Much For (2our)Dust’ US concert run.”

FOB will join previously announced performers The 1975, The Black Keys, Thirty Seconds to Mars,  Bush, Sum 41, Yellowcard, lovelytheband and The Last Dinner Party. iHeartRadio ALTer EGO will be hosted by Woody of iHeartRadio ALT 98.7’s nationally syndicated The Woody Show.

Paramore released their sixth studio album, This Is Why, in February of last year, scoring their highest-charting album in nearly a decade with a No. 2 debut on the Billboard 200. The album was the band’s first since After Laughter was released in May 2017; it debuted and peaked at No. 6. The group’s last album to go higher was its self-titled 2013 release, which debuted at No. 1 on the April 27, 2013-dated list.

Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is back! Ahead of the new season’s release, a trailer was released on Thursday (Jan. 4)

The series marks Marvel’s first Black teenage girl superhero (actress Diamond White is voicing Moon Girl) and features guest voices from Alison Brie, Andy Cohen, Daveed Diggs, Maya Hawke, Jennifer Hudson, Method Man, Cobie Smulders, Wesley Snipes and more.

“In season two, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur are in their element as superheroes; however, as Moon Girl’s superhero-ing intertwines more with her personal life, she must decide if the cost of keeping her identity a secret is worth the toll it takes on her family,” the new season’s description reads.

Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is executive produced by three-time Grammy winning producer, songwriter and instrumentalist Raphael Saadiq. In the comic book world, this is huge,” he previously told Billboard. “To be able to see a Black teenage genius girl doing amazing things, working out problems, explaining to people how not to get caught up in a box without being preachy.”

The new season is set to premiere on the Disney Channel on Friday (Feb. 2), before it hits Disney+ the next day. Watch the Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur trailer below.

If you’re wondering who is going to receive the Cecil B. DeMille and Carol Burnett Awards at the 2024 Golden Globes on Sunday (Jan. 7), you can stop wondering. The awards will not be presented this year.

Related

In a preview of the show on the Golden Globes website on Dec. 19, they suggested, “This is not a permanent change, with future awards slated to be given.”

The reason given for shelving the two honorary awards was time constraints. The show is adding two new categories – one for cinematic and box office excellence and another for best performance by a stand-up comic. The show also upped the number of contenders in 25 of the competitive categories from five to six.

Of course, unless the show drops one or both of these new awards and/or goes back to just five nominees in each category next year, it will face the same time constraints then. It’s possible that the real reason for putting the honorary awards on hiatus this year is that they were unable to attract the caliber of recipients they have in the past. The show is working to rebuild its credibility after a well-publicized (and freely acknowledged) series of scandals.

The Cecil B. DeMille Award was first presented in 1952 to DeMille, the director of such films as Cleopatra (1934), Samson and Delilah (1949), The Greatest Show on Earth (1952) and The Ten Commandments (1956). The award has been presented every year since except for 1976, 2008 and 2022. (The show was not televised in 2022.)

The last five recipients of the DeMille award are indicative of the stature of its recipients over the decades –  Eddie Murphy (2023), Jane Fonda (2021), Tom Hanks (2020), Jeff Bridges (2019) and Oprah Winfrey (2018).

The Burnett Award was first presented in 2019 to Burnett, the beloved star of the long-running The Carol Burnett Show. It is meant to be the TV equivalent of the DeMille Award. The other recipients are Glee creator Ryan Murphy (2023), legendary producer Norman Lear (2021) and retired talk show host Ellen DeGeneres (2020). Lear died on Dec. 5, 2023 at age 101.
