Taylor Swift & Paul McCartney Show Support for Each Other’s New Albums in an Adorable Way

Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift coordinated the release dates for their new albums to avoid overlap, and now they’ve offered fans another glimpse at their sweet friendship.

“Congratulations to my friend @TaylorSwift13 (and her boots) on her wonderful ‘#evermore’ album charting at #1 in the UK this week and no doubt US on Sunday,” the Beatles legend tweeted on Saturday (Dec. 19), predicting a good week for Swift. He shared a clip of himself helping Swift pull off one of her boots, captured by daughter Mary McCartney.

“Everyone stream/buy McCartney III because it’s excellent but also because Paul is the kind of friend who steps in to help you when your boot is stuck,” Swift replied later in the day. “If not for him, it would still be on there.”

McCartney and Paul recently appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone, which featured an interview between the two musicians in which they bonded over writing music, favorite words, working on albums at home and keeping busy during the pandemic lockdown.

John Legend Delivers ‘Hallelujah’ With Carrie Underwood, ‘Glory’ With Common for Global Citizen Prize

John Legend showed off his many talents at Global Citizen Prize 2020, appearing as host and performing twice.

Legend joined Carrie Underwood for the beautiful holiday duet “Hallelujah,” the closing performance of the night, “in honor of the better days to come.” In an earlier segment, he was joined by Common for an inspiring live take of “Glory,” a moving tribute to Black Lives Matter that was accompanied by a choir coming in via a screen.

Global Citizen Prize 2020, which aired Saturday night (Dec. 19) on NBC at 8 p.m. ET, honored several awe-inspiring leaders. In the music world, Elton John was recognized as the Global Citizen artist of the year for his tireless efforts combating the HIV/AIDS crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic with his Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Gwen Stefani, Alessia Cara and JoJo with Tori Kelly also performed during the special event.

Gwen Stefani, introduced by host John Legend as “my good friend,” brought her bright new single to the stage at Global Citizen Prize 2020.

Backed by dancers, a live band and a colorfully lit winter wonderland set, Stefani strutted confidently as she sang “Let Me Reintroduce Myself” on the special, which aired on NBC on Saturday night (Dec. 19).

Global Citizen Prize 2020 honored various incredible leaders. In the music world, Elton John was recognized as the Global Citizen artist of the year for his work fighting the HIV/AIDS crisis, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

John Legend and Carrie Underwood, Legend and Common, Alessia Cara and JoJo and Tori Kelly also performed for the special show.

Barack Obama Reveals His Favorite Songs of 2020: Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny & More

Barack Obama is closing out the year with a list of his top tunes from 2020, featuring picks from Bad Bunny, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Dua Lipa, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and more.

The former president says he got a little help from his daughter Sasha while making his playlist this year.

“Here are some of my favorite songs of the year. As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to,” Obama wrote on Twitter on Saturday (Dec. 19).

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé, Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” featuring DaBaby and Lil Baby’s “The Bigger Picture” were among the tracks to make the list, which was rounded out by selections like Bruce Springsteen’s “Ghosts,” Bob Dylan’s “Goodbye Jimmy Reed” and Bad Bunny’s “La Difícil.” Travis Scott’s “Franchise” featuring Young Thug and M.I.A., Mac Miller’s “Blue World,” H.E.R.’s “Damage,” Phoebe Bridgers’ “Kyoto,” Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over” and Jeff Tweedy’s “Love Is the King” all made appearances on the 30-song collection.

In addition to his annual lists, last month, Obama shared a playlist of music that inspired him throughout his presidency.

Lil Wayne is closing out 2020 with a bang.

Less than a month after the release of his No Ceilings 3 mixtape, the rapper unveiled the 14-track “Side B” on Friday (Dec. 18). The compilation, hosted by DJ Khaled, features all-star appearances from Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Rich the Kid, Euro, and Lil Twist.

Both Big Sean and Lil Wayne himself have been teasing the project for a while. Two weeks ago, Weezy hinted at it during an Instagram Live session, while Sean shared on Thursday (Dec. 17) that “[Lil Wayne] said he not done wit No Ceilings 3!!! Part 2 drop tomorrow! so We went for 100 bars off dis bitch jus for fun!”
