Brandy made an unexpected exit from the stage Saturday night (Oct. 18) at Chicago’s United Center, where she was performing with Monica on the singers’ co-headlining The Boy Is Mine Tour. While she made it through most of the show, her abrupt departure meant fans didn’t get to hear the pair’s signature duet “The Boy Is Mine,” a hit that topped the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart for 13 weeks in 1998.
On Sunday, Brandy explained that her early exit was due to a medical concern. She posted a full statement on Instagram.
“To my dear fans in Chicago,” Brandy wrote, “Thank you all for the overwhelming love, support, and—most importantly—your prayers. I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night’s performance in Chicago. After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, last night I experienced dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint. Everyone involved agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance.”
“I still made the decision to try and return and give it my all despite not feeling ok,” said Brandy. “With having to make some adjustments and the show being very technical, unfortunately, it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production. I really appreciate everyone’s best efforts.”
She added, “I’m deeply grateful to my sister, Monica, for stepping up with such grace and professionalism and the entire crew for their continued care and support.”
Brandy said she sought medical care locally Saturday night and will return to the stage Sunday.
“I went from the arena to see a doctor nearby and have taken the proper precautions to help moving forward,” she wrote. “Your understanding, patience, and unwavering belief mean the world to me. I look forward to returning to the stage—stronger and more grateful than ever—alongside my girl, Monica, tonight in Indianapolis.”
Brandy and Monica have a three-day break following their Oct. 19 show in Indianapolis, before taking the stage together in Nashville on Oct. 24. Their joint tour runs through Dec. 14 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Sabrina Carpenter hosted SNL for the first time and starred in eight sketches that made it to air Saturday night (Oct. 18) in an episode that seamlessly paired with the pop star’s brand of humor.
With a background in comedy television — a decade ago, a then-teenaged Carpenter was the lead on the Boy Meets World spinoff Girl Meets World — and with some familiarity with the SNL stage (as a music performer twice, and with one “Domingo” sketch in her pocket), the singer/actress was poised for success pulling double duty as host and musical guest Saturday night.
And she delivered, from the cold opening all the way through her final sketch of the night — with two playful performances sandwiched into the schedule (a youthfully staged “Manchild,” plus an uncensored “Nobody’s Son”).
With a short and sweet monologue, Carpenter poked fun at her Man’s Best Friend album cover and her “horn-dog pop star” persona — “I’m not just horny, I’m also turned on, and I’m sexually charged, and I love to read; my favorite book is the encyclopedia… it’s so big and it’s hard” — and throughout the episode portrayed roles ranging from a singing washing machine to a tween boy podcaster to an entrepreneur peddling a pillow that looks like a vagina. (Audience reports from the dress rehearsal say there were also a couple sketches with Carpenter that didn’t make it to broadcast, including one about the “perfect man” and a Salem witch-themed bit.)
Here’s a ranking of every sketch Carpenter was in on the show that aired Saturday night. Watch all eight sketches from the Oct. 18 episode of SNL below.
Sharon Osbourne is mourning the loss of her beloved dog, Elvis.
On Sunday (Oct. 19), the 72-year-old television personality and longtime wife and manager of the late Ozzy Osbourne took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message honoring her loyal companion.
“I can’t believe I am posting this but my darling Elvis passed away this week,” she wrote alongside a carousel of photos featuring the Siberian Husky. “He gave me 14 precious years. He was by my side until the end. Rest in peace my darling boy!”
Elvis was adopted by Sharon and Ozzy and became a cherished member of their large family of animals, which over the years has included dogs, cats, and even rescue pigs. The Siberian Husky was often seen curled up in Sharon’s lap during interviews, TMZ reports.
Elvis’s passing comes nearly a year after the Osbourne family experienced another loss — the death of Ozzy’s 15-year-old Pomeranian, Rocky, in August 2024.
“Two days ago I lost my good friend Rocky who has been at my side for 15 years,” the Black Sabbath frontman wrote on X at the time. “I’ll see you on the other side my friend. I love you always.”
The loss of Elvis also comes nearly three months after Ozzy himself passed away on July 22 at the age of 76. Sharon addressed her husband’s death for the first time in mid-September, posting an emotional message on Instagram alongside a video of herself and daughter Kelly at a falconry in England.
“I’m still having trouble finding the words to express how grateful I am for the overwhelming love and support you’ve shown on social media,” she wrote. “Your comments, posts, and tributes have brought me more comfort than you know. None of it has gone unnoticed, in fact, it’s carried me through many nights.”

Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl spends a second week atop the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Oct. 25), with 338,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the week ending Oct. 16, according to Luminate. That’s down 92% compared to the album’s modern-era-record debut with 4.002 million units a week ago.
Showgirl’s second week is the fifth-largest week of 2025 for any album. Further, it’s the largest second week for any album since Swift’s last project, The Tortured Poets Department, earned 439,000 in its sophomore frame (May 11, 2024, chart).
Showgirl is only the third album to spend its first two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in 2025, following Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem (its first eight) and Playboi Carti’s MUSIC (two).
Showgirl leads a sleepy top 10 on the latest Billboard 200, where no albums debut in the region. Within the top 10, Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving hits a new peak, rising 7-6 in its third week on the chart. It’s only the third album this year to debut in the top 10 and climb to a new high after its opening week.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new, Oct. 25, 2025-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Oct. 20. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.
Of The Life of a Showgirl’s 338,000 equivalent album units earned in the latest tracking week, SEA units comprise 236,000 (down 55%, equaling 307.59 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks — it holds at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums for a second week), album sales comprise 101,000 (down 97% — it’s No. 1 on Top Album Sales for a second week) and TEA units comprise 1,000. It its first week, none of the album’s tracks were available to purchase individually; in its second week, its promoted single, and Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, “The Fate of Ophelia” was.
The rest of the top five on the Billboard 200 are all non-moving former No. 1s. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack is No. 2 (104,000 equivalent album units, up 9%); Wallen’s I’m the Problem is No. 3 (79,000, down 4%); Cardi B’s AM I THE DRAMA? is No. 4 (50,000, down 21%) and Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend is No. 5 (45,000, down 10%).
Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving hits a new high, rising 7-6 in its third week on the list (36,000 equivalent album units earned, up 5%). The set debuted at No. 8 two weeks ago. It’s only the third album to debut in the top 10 this year and rise to a new peak in a later week, following the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack (No. 8 debut, ultimately reaching No. 1 in its 12th week) and Bad Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS (No. 2 debut; No. 1 a week later).
DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS falls 6-7 on the latest Billboard 200 (33,000 equivalent album units, down 19%) while SZA’s former leader SOS rises 9-8 (32,000, up 1%), Alex Warren’s You’ll Be Alright, Kid slips 8-9 (nearly 32,000, down 1%), and Wallen’s former No. 1 One Thing at a Time is steady at No. 10 (31,000, down 1%).

Sam Rivers, longtime bass player and a founding member of Limp Bizkit, has died. He was 48.
The band (Fred Durst, Wes Borland, John Otto and DJ Lethal) revealed the news of Rivers’ death Saturday night (Oct. 18) in a tribute to the musician titled “In Loving Memory of Our Brother, Sam Rivers,” in a post on Instagram.
“Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat,” Limp Bizkit wrote on Saturday of Rivers, who was born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1977 and was one third of the original formation of Limp Bizkit in 1994, alongside vocalist Durst and drummer Otto. (Borland and DJ Lethal joined in 1996.)
“Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic,” his band members said. “The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound. From the first note we ever played together, Sam brought a light and a rhythm that could never be replaced. His talent was effortless, his presence unforgettable, his heart enormous.”
Their statement continued: “We shared so many moments — wild ones, quiet ones, beautiful ones — and every one of them meant more because Sam was there. He was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of human. A true legend of legends. And his spirit will live forever in every groove, every stage, every memory. We love you, Sam. We’ll carry you with us, always. Rest easy, brother. Your music never ends.”
DJ Lethal left an additional comment on Instagram, writing, “We love you Sam Rivers. Please respect the family’s privacy at this moment. Give Sam his flowers and play Sam Rivers basslines all day! We are in shock. Rest in power my brother! You will live on through your music and the lives you helped save with your music, charity work and friendships. We are heartbroken. Enjoy every millisecond of life. It’s not guaranteed.”
Rivers’ cause of death has not been revealed.
He was diagnosed with liver disease in 2011 and received a liver transplant in 2017. Within this time period, he took a short hiatus from his work with Limp Bizkit — but was back with the band by 2018.
Limp Bizkit’s breakthrough came with the nu-metal band’s 1997 debut album, Three Dollar Bill, Y’all — featuring their cover version of George Michael’s “Faith,” which picked up radio airplay and had a music video in rotation on MTV and the network’s then-popular TRL (Total Request Live). But it was their 1999 sophomore album Significant Other that reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the first time, and the set received three Grammy nominations — in the categories of best rock album and best hard rock performance (for their hit “Nookie,” as well as album track “Take a Look Around”). They’d have another Billboard 200 No. 1 with the 2000 album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.
To date Limp Bizkit has released a total of six full-length studio albums, with the most recent being 2021’s Still Sucks.
Limp Bizkit recently returned to No. 1 on a Billboard chart for the first time since 2011. The single “Making Love to Morgan Wallen” debuted atop Hot Hard Rock Songs, Alternative Digital Song Sales and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales the week of Sept. 27, 2025.
