The numbers game is typically a Taylor Swift thing, but if you do the math on how long it’s been between new Guns N’ Roses albums, we’re due for a new LP from the hard rock icons any day now. At least according to guitarist Slash, who in the December issue of Guitar Player magazine says that the veteran band is hard at work on their long-awaited follow-up to 2008’s Chinese Democracy.

“There’s so much material at this point — it’s a matter of having the discipline to sit down and f—ing get into it,” said Slash, who teased that a new LP is “coming” without offering any time frame. “But the thing with Guns is, in my experience, you can never plan ahead. You can never sit down and go, ‘We’re going to take this time, and we’re going to do this.’ Every time we’ve done that, it falls apart.”

GNR took 17 years between 1991’s Use Your Illusion two-part album and 2008’s Democracy, which singer Axl Rose famously labored over for years with a wide variety of musicians that didn’t include any of the original Guns members. Though they released the covers EP The Spaghetti Incident? in 1992 in between, the drought since Democracy has stretched on for nearly two decades as the semi-reunited band has toured the world several times with a lineup that now (again) includes Slash and original bassist Duff McKagan, as well as longtime keyboardist Dizzy Reed.

In the GW chat, Slash also pulled the curtain back a bit on the band’s workflow with legendarily mercurial singer Rose, saying, “It just spontaneously happens through some sort of inspiration that triggers it. And the next thing you know, it’s off and running,” he said. “So it’s coming. I know it’s coming because everybody is thinking about it. It’ll just happen when it happens.”

At press time spokespeople for Slash and GN’R had not returned Billboard‘s request for comment.

Various whispers about a potential new Guns album have bubbled up from time-to-time over the past decade, with McKagan telling Trunk Nation in 2019 that a new album was cooking, saying “Oh, it’s real, but the fun part and the cool part about Guns N’ Roses is we don’t really talk about it, and what happens next just happens.”

In the interminable interim, fans have had to satisfy their appetite for new Guns music with the studio versions of “Absurd” and “Hard Skool” in 2021 and “Perhaps” in 2023 after debuting them live. For now, the band is still rocking around the world on its Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things tour, with an upcoming show in Medellin, Colombia on Saturday (Oct. 11), followed by a run of South American and Central American shows through Nov. 8.

Rüfüs du Sol and Chase & Status were among the winners at The DJ Awards 2025, which were held at ROTO Club in Ibiza Town, in Ibiza, Spain on Thursday (Oct. 9). This year’s ceremony marked the 24th edition of the DJ Awards, an independent and globally inclusive celebration of electronic music.

Related

Rüfüs du Sol won for live act. The Australian alternative dance trio won a Grammy four years ago for best dance/electronic recording for “Alive.”

Chase & Status won for drums & bass. Saul Milton (Chase) and Will Kennard (Status) won the BRIT Award for producer of the year in 2024.

There were two new categories at The DJ Awards this year. The Balearic category, won by MINA, honors the sound of Ibiza and the DJs creating it, while the hard dance/bounce category, won by Hannah Laing, acknowledges that genre’s renaissance over the last year.

The DJ Awards were founded in 1998 and are the longest-running international celebration of DJ culture. After a four year hiatus, the show returned to Ibiza last fall. The ceremony was founded by Ibiza residents José Pascual and Lenny Krarup, with ownership of the awards taken over by Andy Grant last year.

“It’s been incredible to see the DJ Awards come together once again for a second year since returning,” Grant said in a statement. “This ceremony truly celebrates the heart of our culture, the artists who have inspired dance floors all around the world, and those in the industry who come together to make it all happen. What makes it even more special is that these accolades come directly from the public’s independent votes, honouring the DJs who’ve genuinely moved the people and dance floors this year.”

This year’s awards also included several industry and special recognition awards proposed by a jury of music professionals.

In response to the devastating floods in Ibiza, the DJ Awards announced that a portion of the event’s proceeds have been donated to the Spanish Red Cross (Creu Roja) to support recovery and aid efforts on the island.

After thousands of public votes, here are the winners of the 2025 publicly-voted, genre-specific categories, followed by a list of industry and special recognition awards winners.

Apparently, there are a lot of people out there who really, really can’t stand the thought of listening to someone sing in Spanish, even for just 10 minutes.

In light of Bad Bunny‘s appointment as the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner, Turning Point USA has announced its plans to host an alternate mid-game concert — featuring “anything in English” when it comes to the music.

Related

The conservative political group founded by late MAGA commentator Charlie Kirk broke the news on Thursday (Oct. 9), sharing a post on X reading, “It’s true, Turning Point USA is thrilled to announce The All American Halftime Show.”

The program is intended to celebrate “faith, family and freedom,” according to a graphic included in the post.

The organization also noted that the show’s performers will be announced “soon,” although it appears as though no artists have actually been booked yet. On the website for the “All American Halftime Show,” there’s a poll asking people to vote for which type of music they’d like to hear come game day on Feb. 8 next year, including country, pop, “worship,” Americana and classic rock, as well as an option the simple says “anything in English.”

Billboard has reached out to Bad Bunny’s rep for comment.

The “anything in English” choice points to the main complaint many MAGA Republicans have expressed online in response to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation selecting Benito to perform at next year’s Super Bowl in Santa Clara, Calif. Many are upset that someone whose music is primarily in Spanish would be asked to headline, while White House advisor Corey Lewandowski recently said it’s “shameful they’ve decided to pick somebody who seems to hate America so much.”

President Donald Trump also fueled the fire by calling Bad Bunny a “ridiculous” choice. “I never heard of him,” the twice-impeached politician said recently. “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it. It’s, like, crazy.”

It’s unclear where people may have gotten the notion that Bad Bunny in any way stands in opposition to the U.S. The musician is from Puerto Rico, which is an unincorporated territory of the country. And while Benito did elect to not play any American dates on his upcoming tour, he’s explicitly stated that the choice was not made “out of hate” for the Land of the Free.

“I’ve performed there many times,” he told I-D in September. “All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent. I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the U.S. … But there was the issue of, like, f–king ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

As Billboard‘s chief content officer of Latin/Español Leila Cabo points out, however, there is nothing inherently political about Bad Bunny being tapped for halftime.

“As those of us who speak Spanish daily can attest, many still look down on Spanish as a language, and definitely on the people who speak it,” she wrote in a recent op-ed. “Let’s acknowledge that having Bad Bunny headline the Super Bowl is a bold choice — but let’s also be real about the reasons.”

A federal judge on Thursday (Oct. 9) dismissed Drake’s defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group over Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” ruling that a “war of words” during a “heated rap battle” did not violate the law.

Drake’s case, filed earlier this year, claimed that UMG defamed him by releasing Lamar’s scathing diss track, which tarred his arch-rival as a “certified pedophile.” He believed that millions of people took that lyric literally, severely harming his reputation.

But just ten months later, Judge Jeannette Vargas granted UMG’s motion to dismiss the case at the outset – ruling that Kendrick’s insulting lyrics were the kind of “hyperbole” that cannot be defamatory because listeners would not think they were statements of fact.

“The artists’ seven-track rap battle was a ‘war of words’ that was the subject of substantial media scrutiny and online discourse,” the judge wrote. “Although the accusation that plaintiff is a pedophile is certainly a serious one, the broader context of a heated rap battle, with incendiary language and offensive accusations hurled by both participants, would not incline the reasonable listener to believe that ‘Not Like Us’ imparts verifiable facts about plaintiff.”

The ruling marks an abrupt end to a legal battle that stunned the music industry. Few expected a rapper to respond to a diss track with a lawsuit – a move that drew ridicule in the hip hop world and condemnation from legal scholars. Fewer still expected him to file it against UMG, his longtime record label and the biggest music company in the world.

Drake’s attorneys can appeal the ruling to a federal appeals court. His attorneys did not immediately return a request for comment. A spokesman for UMG also did not immediately return a request for comment.

Lamar released “Not Like Us” last May amid a war-of-words with Drake that saw the two UMG stars release a series of bruising diss tracks. The song, a knockout punch that blasted Drake as a “certified pedophile” over an infectious beat, became a chart-topping hit in its own right and won five Grammy Awards, including record and song of the year.

In January, Drake took the unusual step of taking UMG to court, claiming his own label had defamed him by boosting the track’s popularity, including through the use of bots and other nefarious marketing tactics. The lawsuit, which didn’t name Lamar himself as a defendant, alleges that UMG “waged a campaign” against its own artist to spread a “malicious narrative” about pedophilia that it knew to be false.

UMG argued those allegations were clearly meritless – that “hyperbolic insults” and “vitriolic allegations” are par for the course in diss tracks and cannot form the basis for a libel lawsuit. The company pointedly noted that Drake himself was happy to make such attacks, including accusing Lamar of domestic abuse, until he lost the battle.

The dispute got even nastier in February, when Lamar made “Not Like Us” the centerpiece of his Super Bowl halftime show. After speculation about whether he’d play the track at all, Kendrick used the show to mock his rival, looking directly into camera as he rapped “Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young.”

This is a developing news story and will be updated with more details as they become available.

Cam’ron claims he made $10 million from a natural male enhancement supplement he discovered during the pandemic.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Cam brought some free samples of his Pink Horse Power supplement and talked about how they’re created with natural African ingredients. Without going into specifics, he said he gets the ingredients from Senegal and notes how diluted some of them usually become when they’re shipped overseas.

“When it’s on the boat, they water it down,” Cam said starting around the 13-minute mark below. “I keep a n—a on a boat for two months to watch our stocks so that we make sure we have the highest potency of it.”

He added that Pink Horse Power is potent and effective and that it works within “10 minutes” when “it’s time to go in.”

“We’ve been doing this for four years [and] probably made close to $10 million on it,” he told the hosts, adding that the company was founded during the pandemic because, “Nobody was doing s—t but f—king at home.”

When asked about how he made so much dough, Cam simply said his media appearances on Drink Champs and Gillie Da Kid’s podcast really helped drive the company’s stock. He noted a big booster was his viral appearance on CNN in 2024, when Abby Phillip asked him questions about the footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie. Cam reluctantly answered a few questions, but at one point in the tense interview, took a shot of his Pink Horse Power drink while on air. He declared to CNN that he was gonna “get some cheeks” after the interview.

“I said I’ll do one or two Puff questions, but you kept forcing the issue,” Cam told The Breakfast Club. “Alright, bet. Let’s do it, Pink Horse commercial, the whole s—t.”

Janet Jackson will receive the 2025 ICON of the Year Award at The Gala of the Stars, an annual benefit supporting Dancers Against Cancer. The gala will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The award “recognizes Jackson’s unmatched influence on music, dance and culture, as well as her continued advocacy for compassion, empowerment and artistic excellence,” according to a statement.

Jackson has long incorporated dance and movement into her work. Eleven of her music videos have been nominated for best choreography in a video at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The award will be presented in person by Oscar, Emmy and Tony winner Liza Minnelli, another performer who is strongly associated with dance. Minnelli is a longtime family friend. She was especially close to Janet’s late brother Michael Jackson.

Dancer, choreographer and instructor Maksim Chmerkovskiy, best known for his long run as a pro partner on Dancing With the Stars, will host the black-tie event.

“Janet Jackson represents everything this award stands for — strength, innovation, compassion and an unwavering commitment to artistic integrity,” Adrian Ruiz, president of the Gala of the Stars and Dancers Against Cancer, said in a statement. “Her influence transcends generations. Honoring her at this year’s gala not only celebrates her legacy, but also her enduring impact on the dance community and the power of using art for good.”

Founded in 2012, Dancers Against Cancer is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance, emotional support and community connection to dancers, teachers and choreographers affected by cancer.

In fact, dates go until Saturday (Aug. 15, 2026) at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, while his last tour date in the United States will take place the day prior (Aug. 14, 2026) at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Tickets to the tour first went on sale through Ticketmaster, while the retailer’s Face Value Exchange program is an option for fans to resell tickets.

Since many of the dates have either sold out or are very close to selling out, one of the best ways to find Nate Bargatze tickets online is through third-party sites, including StubHub, Vivid Seats, SeatGeek and others — all of which guarantee authentic tickets in time for the event.

In addition, tickets are all delivered digitally, so you can get them sent instantly to your smartphone or email. Prices may also be above or below face value at times.
