Can HUNTR/X’s “Golden” hold On to No. 1 on the Hot 100 this week?

Tetris Kelly:

Are the Saja Boys gonna take down HUNTER/X on the chart? Will Alex Warren hold off demons and their hunters? This is the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 for the week, dated August 23rd. In the top 10, for the first time, is “Soda Pop.” Up to nine is Shaboozey. “Just In Case” falls to eight, as Teddy Swims rises to seven. “Daisies” is down to six. Ravyn Lenae climbs to No. 5. Saja Boys appear again, bringing “Your Idol” to four.  Morgan and Tate are up a spot, while “Golden” drops to No. 2. And returning to No. 1 for a 10th week is Alex Warren with “Ordinary.” If you want more Billboard, make sure you hit the subscribe button and ring the bell to be notified on all our latest videos.

Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” rebounds a rank to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking its milestone 10th week in the chart’s top spot.

Over the Hot 100’s 67-year history, a mere 4% of all Hot 100 No. 1s (47 of 1,183) have dominated for double-digit weeks. “Ordinary” is the first to reach the mark since Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “Luther,” which led for 13 weeks beginning in March. Before that, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” reigned for a record-tying 19 weeks beginning in July of last year.

Meanwhile, the soundtrack to the smash Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunters adds its third Hot 100 top 10, as Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” bounds 14-10. It’s the second top 10 for the act — whose music is voiced by Andrew Choi, Neckwav, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo and samUIL Lee — joining “Your Idol,” which surges to the top five (8-4). The set’s “Golden” by HUNTR/X — the singing trio of EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI — ranks at No. 2, a week after rising to No. 1.

Browse the full rundown of this week’s top 10 below.

The Hot 100 blends all-genre U.S. streaming (official audio and official video), radio airplay and sales data, the lattermost metric reflecting purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers; digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from chart calculations. All charts (dated Aug. 23, 2025) will update on Billboard.com tomorrow, Aug. 19. For all chart news, you can follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.

Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes a thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. This week, Priscilla Block returns with an introspective new track “Couldn’t Care Less,” while Ty Myers ponders online dating on his new song. Evan Honer digs deep into relationship doubts on “Not There Yet,” while the Randy Rogers Band offers up their latest, “The Going.”

Check out all of these and more in Billboard‘s roundup of some of the best country, bluegrass and/or Americana songs of the week below.

Priscilla Block, “Couldn’t Care Less”

Block will return with her sophomore album, Things You Didn’t See, in October and previews that new project with another single derived deeply from her own life story. She broke through with songs about heartbreak (“Just About Over You”) and body positivity (“Thick Thighs”), and she pours that same unfiltered, poetically raw sensibility into a new song about feigned composure in the face of disappointment and hurt. On “Couldn’t Care Less,” grapples with online criticisms and the disappointment of seeing certain accolades fail to come her way. This ballad is sure to ring true with anyone who has experienced unmet expectations, and her warm, conversational tone puts forth the song’s message with heart.

Ty Myers, “Through a Screen”

Myers takes a look at the peculiarities of online dating on this new, solo-written song titled “Through A Screen.” Elegant keyboard and lush strings build, as he captures the moments of an online discussion that swiftly leads to the protagonist falling for a lover he’s never met in person. “I’ve only known your name for a week/ and I know that I’m falling,” he sings, his voice as rich as ever, depicting the whirlwind of emotions, hopes and fears that come with modern dating. Myers takes what could easily become an underwhelming topic and elevates it to a song of yearning, expectant romance.

Evan Honer, “Not There Yet”

Honer teamed with Sierra Carson to craft this introspective narrative about someone comprehending their new lover has made fast connections with his family and friends, while he’s still on the fence about the relationship. “She’s so damn invested I’m scared to address/ It’s hard to accept it,” he sings, over gently-strummed acoustics, as the lyrics detail a realization of a rushed relationship. Honer excels at making the deeply personal feel universal. “Not There Yet” is included on Honer’s upcoming album Everything I Wanted, out Sept. 19.

Elizabeth Nichols, “Daughter”

Nichols earned a viral hit earlier this year with the clever kiss-off “I Got a New One.” But on her latest, she’s hoping that “if karma’s real,” an ex-lover will get a taste of his own medicine when he becomes a father — namely, that his daughter will one day fall for an unfaithful lover. Written by Nichols with Jackson Foote and Joybeth Taylor, Nichols’ “Daughter” demonstrates her prowess as a detailed songwriter and engaging vocalist with staying power.

Randy Rogers Band, “The Going”

The title track to this iconic Texas band’s upcoming new EP, “The Going,” offers a Western music-tinged, winding tale of a long drive with a mystic cowboy figure. The song opens with a nod to the grit and determination of a hard-touring band in the lines: “We played all night for nothing, but that ain’t nothin’ new/ When you’re trying to get a fire lit/ That’s just what you do.” Filled with scenes of rivers, cactus and coyotes, the song’s message becomes clear, a keen lesson that sometimes the journey is the reward. Rogers wrote the song with Jedd Hughes and Adam Wright.

Joey Bada$$ is hitting the road this fall, and he’s bringing some wordsmiths with him. The Brooklyn rapper announced the Dark Aura Tour on Monday (Aug. 18), which is set to kick off in October and will feature Ab-Soul and Rapsody as special guests.

The North American trek will run through Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Denver, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Nashville and hit Joey’s hometown of Brooklyn before wrapping up in Philadelphia on Nov. 20.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale starting on Tuesday (Aug. 19), while the general public gets in on the action come Thursday morning (Aug. 21).

The 30-year-old turned the heat up a few notches with his menacing “Dark Aura” single on Monday, which will land on Joey’s Lonely at the Top album arriving on Aug. 29.

“Please don’t push me, I’m too close to the edge/ Gotta know the ledge, knowledge is power, that’s what my OG said,” he raps in an homage to Melle Mel’s bars on hip-hop staple “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five.

Joey Bada$$ had Lonely at the Top ready for Aug. 1, but chalked up the album delay to his label’s (Columbia Records) doing.

“The album is not dropping Aug. 1. I’m f—king sorry. I’m ashamed, I’m f—king disappointed,” he told fans on social media in late July. “I wanted to take accountability and responsibility because I’m not ever gon’ leave y’all high and dry.”

Joey continued: “My s—t got pushed back because the label pushed my s—t back. My album is signed, sealed and delivered over a month ago. This ain’t ‘cause of no sample clearances. This ain’t ‘cause of no features. This ain’t ‘cause of no clashing with another artist on the date. This is literally an Exhibit A of the label getting in the artist’s way … I’ve been moving on rogue time.”

Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl announcement took over the world last week; still, the pop queen’s new album announcement didn’t completely overshadow another hectic week in the worlds of hip-hop and R&B.

Last Tuesday (Aug. 12) and Wednesday (Aug. 13), Chris Brown took his career-commemorating Breezy Bowl XX World Tour to East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium, treating two packed crowds to hours of R&B greatness with some help from Bryson Tiller and Summer Walker. By Thursday (Aug. 14), Lil Yachty took Breezy’s place in the headlines thanks to his appearance on Plaqueboymax’s live stream, in which he played an unreleased track containing a disgustingly disrespectful lyric about the late George Floyd. After publicly pressing him for an apology, former NBA star Stephen Jackson confirmed that he, a close friend of Floyd’s, and Lil Boat had a private conversation to clear the air.

Meanwhile, several major stars unleashed highly anticipated new projects. Cardi B kept her Am I the Drama? rollout with “Imaginary Playerz,” a flip of Jay-Z’s iconic “Imaginary Players” that’s garnered mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. Chance the Rapper ended his six-year wait for his Star Line sophomore studio album, which featured a familiar cast of collaborators, including Jamila Woods, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Vic Mensa. Of course, there was also Chlöe and Moliy’s Diaspora-uniting remix of Yung Bredda’s Full Blown-produced global soca smash hit, “The Greatest Bend Over.”

With Fresh Picks, Billboard aims to highlight some of the best and most interesting new sounds across R&B and hip-hop — from Armani White and Samara Cyn’s new link-up to Ne-Yo’s spin on Joe Leone’s rising hit. Be sure to check out this week’s Fresh Picks in our Spotify playlist below.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor is the latest act to remove their music from Spotify.

Over the past few months, many artists including Chad VanGaalen, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Deerhoof and Xiu Xiu have removed their music from Spotify. In addition to qualms round royalty payments, many artists have cited military investments made by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek through his investment fund Prima Materia. Since 2021, Prima Materia has been investing in Helsing, a defense company that sells AI software to inform military decisions. One song, a compilation track called “Outro,” is all that remains on Spotify.

Godspeed! has gone several steps further, removing nearly its entire discography from all major streaming services, including Tidal and Amazon Music.

Two of the long-running Canadian post-rock band’s albums on American independent record label Kranky — 1998’s F# A# ∞ and 2000’s Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven — are still up on Apple Music — but that’s also set to change soon.

“Kranky has always granted artists control over how their music is presented and disseminated,” a representative shared with Pitchfork, confirming that Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s remaining albums are in the process of being removed from the platform.

The band’s entire catalogue is still available to buy and stream via Bandcamp.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor have had two albums on the Billboard 200, but they’ve had even more impact on sales charts. The group has earned five albums on Billboard’s Top Album Sales, including 2021’s G_d’s Pee At State’s End, which peaked at No. 8. Five albums have charted on the Vinyl Albums chart, with 2012’s Allelujah! Don’t Bend! Ascend! hitting No. 1.

That album won Canada’s Polaris Music Prize in 2012, but the band didn’t show up to receive the award, using the $30,000 prize to launch and fund a program to provide musical instruments to prisoners in Quebec.

Billboard Canada has reached out to Godspeed You! Black Emperor and their label Constellation Records for comment.

Though the band hasn’t shared their exact reason for removing their music or if it is related to Ek’s military investments, they have often espoused anti-capitalist and anti-war perspectives. Their most recent album, 2024’s No Title as of 13 February 2024 28,340 Dead, was titled after the death toll of Palestinians, as reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry, in Israel’s war in Gaza.

In a statement accompanying the album, the band wrote:

“THE PLAIN TRUTH==
we drifted through it, arguing.
every day a new war crime, every day a flower bloom.
we sat down together and wrote it in one room,
and then sat down in a different room, recording.”

Offset will be closing the book on his relationship with Cardi B on his new album, KIARI.

Set told the Associated Press that the album’s last track, “Move On,” will delve into ending that chapter of his love, but “it’s all love and peace” from his side.

“It’s about moving on, like, peacefully. That’s what the message is supposed to be,” he said. “It’s all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it’s time to move on, it’s over and done with.”

Offset continued: “It was great while it lasted. That shouldn’t be the topic for either one of us no more. It’s a book that’s closed.”

Cardi and Offset split last year when the Bronx rapper filed for divorce from the Migos rapper in August for the second time. The former couple began dating in early 2017 and have three children together (Kulture, Wave and Blossom).

Cardi spent the summer enjoying her new relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs, which appears to be going strong heading into the fall.

While Cardi’s Am I the Drama? album is set to drop on Sept. 19, the Atlanta native is gearing up for his KIARI album to hit streaming services on Friday (Aug. 22).

The project will feature assists from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, GunnaYFN Lucci, Ty Dolla $ignJohn Legend and Key Glock. He served up a preview of the album at his Boiler Room set in NYC on Sunday night (Aug. 17).

KIARI is Offset’s first solo LP since 2023’s Set It Off; both his sophomore album and Father of Four debut entered inside the Billboard 200′s top five.
