Billie Eilish is about to hit fans with her most sustainable release yet.

On the new Billboard Pop Shop Podcast, Katie & Keith are joined by Billboard deputy editor Lyndsey Havens, who has interviewed Eilish twice ahead of the announcement of her third full-length studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft, out May 17. Both of Havens’ interviews — one for Billboard‘s sustainability issue last month and one to speak specifically about making Hit Me her most eco-friendly album yet — focused on the efforts Eilish and her mother, Maggie Baird, have made and are making to prioritize the environment in Billie’s career.

American Idol is down to its top 24, and next week’s episode will feature a star-studded list of performers.

Teddy Swims, Lauren Spencer Smith and Paul Russell are all set to take the stage on the three-hour April 14 episode of the singing competition series, where the top 20 will be revealed.

Swims is fresh off a Hot 100 chart-topper with his viral hit “Lose Control,” off his 2023 album, I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1). “It’s only 1 o’clock, but it’s 5 somewhere, ain’t it?,” Teddy Swims marveled to Billboard after “Lose Control” crowned the tally. “I called my beautiful mother [and] said, ‘We did it.’ I couldn’t be more grateful. I feel so protected. I feel like God’s favorite kid right now.”

Spencer Smith, an Idol alum, revealed back in February that she’s working on the long-awaited follow-up to her debut album, Mirror. Russell recently released “Eat Pray Love” to follow-up his 2023 hit “Lil Boo Thang.”

American Idol airs Sunday (April 14) at 8 p.m. ET on ABC, before it will be available to stream the next day on Hulu. Not subscribed? Hulu’s most popular plan is currently $7.99 per month after a free trial for seven days.

Vick Hope is a Swiftie, despite her husband’s history with Taylor Swift.

Calvin Harris’ wife shared on her BBC Radio 1 show Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie on Monday (April 8) that she listens to the DJ’s ex-girlfriend when he’s not around. “As soon as my husband goes away, I listen to Taylor Swift,” she admitted. “That’s just when I get my little fill — just a little fill, just a couple of songs, get it out of my system and then it’s done.”

Harris and Hope first started dating in early 2022, and were engaged by the end of the year. They tied the knot in September 2023 in a tent on the grounds of Hulne Priory, Alnwick, Northumberland. “You know what, I was very overwhelmed by the interest in it, but I’m keeping my private life private,” Hope previously told Hello! Magazine about their relationship. “I’ve never really experienced this before about my private life, but it’s just for us.”

Swift and Harris dated for nearly a year and a half back in 2015. In July 2016, it was revealed that Swift secretly co-wrote Harris’ hit “This Is What You Came For” under a pseudonym. Once the news broke, Harris launched a string of (since-deleted) angry tweets, claiming that Swift was trying to “tear” him down.

“It was completely the wrong instinct,” Harris told British GQ later that year, reflecting on the incident. “I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled. It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped.”

Spotify has launched a new AI playlist feature for premium users in the United Kingdom and Australia, the company revealed in a blog post on Sunday (April 7).

The new feature, which is still in beta, allows Spotify users in those markets to turn any concept into a playlist by using prompts like “an indie folk playlist to give my brain a big warm hug” or “a playlist that makes me feel like the main character.” The tool builds off of Spotify’s other recent features that focus on personalization and interactivity, like AI DJ and Daylist. Daylist, in particular, has found popularity among the streaming service’s Gen Z users who often post the wacky titles Daylist generates to their social media accounts.

Related

These more personalized tools are a complement to Spotify’s editorial playlist offerings, which have been a defining part of the platform’s user experience since the 2010s. They also build off the legacy of its personal, shareable end-of-year Spotify Wrapped campaign.

AI Playlist can iterate a list of songs based on a user’s references to places, animals, activities, movie characters, colors and emojis, but it cannot respond to current events or specific brands. The company also notes that it has measures in place around text prompts to keep offensive language and ideas out of AI playlists.

The AI playlist feature can be found on Spotify’s iOS and Android apps under “Your Library,” where users can tap the “+” button at the top right corner and select “AI Playlist.”

“At Spotify, we aim to deliver the right piece of music for that exact moment in time,” reads the blog post. “With AI Playlist in beta, we’re excited to give Premium subscribers in the U.K. and Australia a new way to discover music. Over the coming months, we look forward to continuing to iterate on this new feature to best serve our listeners.”
