There’s a new Dyson Airwrap on the market, and it’s the brand’s most futuristic hair tool yet. The Dyson Airwrap i.d. is a multi-styler and dryer with one-touch curling and styling capabilities that you can control through the Dyson app. The latest Dyson device dropped last year and was one of the hardest products to find in stores and online. But, you can score a Dyson Airwrap i.d. on sale now for a whopping $170 off as part of a holiday promotion at Dyson.com.

Everyone from Selena Gomez to Emma Stone have been known to use the Dyson Airwrap, and it’s not just for women either: The Bear star Jeremy Allen White used an Airwrap to perfect his curls at last year’s Golden Globe Awards.

The Dyson Airwrap i.d. uses Bluetooth technology to offer what the company has billed as a “more personalized styling experience.” Case in point: the haircare tool has a “personalized curling sequence” that allows you to style your hair with the touch of a button, without having to endlessly wind or twirl the wand. With help from the Dyson app, Airwrap i.d. also remembers your user data — such as hair type, hair length, and your skill level with haircare devices — to further automate the styling process. And the Airwrap i.d does all that while “maintaining heat and airflow,” per Dyson.

Want products to pair with your new Airwrap? Dyson debuted a line of hair styling products last year designed to be used with its haircare tools. The Chitosan collection consists of Pre-Styling Hair Cream ($59.99) and Post-Styling Hair Serum ($59.99) designed to fight humidity and frizz to help your hairstyles last longer. The line takes its name from chitosan, “a complex macromolecule derived from oyster mushrooms” and the star ingredient in the product lineup.

Dyson’s Chitosan collection is available at Sephora and Dyson.com.

Vince Guaraldi Trio’s soundtrack to the A Charlie Brown Christmas animated TV special is back in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart (dated Dec. 13) for the first time in nearly three years. It surges 18-9 with 46,000 equivalent album units earned (up 68%) in the United States in the week ending Dec. 4, according to Luminate.

It was last in the top 10 on the Jan. 7, 2023-dated chart, when it ranked at No. 10.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.

Of the 46,000 units the album earned for the week, album sales comprise 20,000 — up 64% and largely owed to vinyl purchases; it jumps 10-4 on Top Album Sales. The album earns its biggest sales week in three years, since it sold 23,000 copies on the Dec. 31, 2022. chart.

A Charlie Brown Christmas is among a crowded top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, which is jam-packed full of gaining titles thanks to sales gains generated by Black Friday promotions. Seven of the top 10 titles all post gains. Stray Kids’ DO IT leads the chart (60,000 sold, down 79% in its second week), Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl rises 4-2 (46,000, up 121%), the Wicked: For Good soundtrack dips 2-3 (43,000, down 49% in its second week), the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack is up 6-5 (19,000, up 32%), the Stranger Things: The WSQK Collection jumps 26-6 (18,000, up 268%), Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend ascends 13-7 (17,000, up 72%), Stray Kids’ KARMA falls 5-8 (16,000, down 9%), the Wicked soundtrack dips 7-9 (15,000, though up 11%) and KATSEYE’s Beautiful Chaos rises 12-10 (15,000, up 42%).

A Charlie Brown Christmas also holds at No. 1 on both the Kid Albums and Independent Albums charts. It additionally appears in the top 10 on a sleigh-ful of other rankings: Jazz Albums (No. 2), Traditional Jazz Albums (No. 2), Top Holiday Albums (No. 3), Catalog Albums (No. 3), Soundtracks (No. 3), Indie Store Album Sales (No. 3), Vinyl Albums (No. 4). It also climbs 43-13 on Top Streaming Albums.

The A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack was released in 1965, the same year that the Emmy Award-winning special premiered on CBS, but it did not reach any Billboard ranking until 1987. That year, it debuted on the Top Holiday Albums chart, where it later peaked at No. 2 (Jan. 27, 2007). On the Billboard 200 chart, the set visited the top 10 for the first time on the Jan. 2, 2021-dated list, later peaking at No. 6 on the Jan. 1, 2022-dated chart.

It’s Beéle for the win on Vevo’s most-watched chart of 2025, as the Colombian singer-songwriter snags the top 2 spots.

Beéle leads the streaming video platform’s view count for new videos with “Mi Refe,” his collaboration with Ovy on The Drums, which accumulated 245.8 million views during the year.

The Barranquilla-born artist backs it up with “No Tiene Sentido” at No. 2, with 193 million total views, while K-pop star JENNIE, a founding member of BLACKPINK, slots in at No. 3 with “Like JENNIE,” which accumulated 177.6 million plays.

Beéle’s Vevo 1-2 caps a breakout year for the artist, who made his first appearance on Billboard’s albums rankings with his debut collection BORONDO back in May, bowing at No. 10 on Top Latin Albums and No. 4 on Top Latin Rhythm Albums on the lists. Earlier, BORONDO track “Mi Refe” cracked the top 10 on Latin Rhythm Airplay, in April.

For those breakthroughs and more, Billboard tapped Beéle (real name: Brandon de Jesús López Orozco) as Latin Artist on the Rise in May.

Where Beéle had the hottest new videos, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile” was killer. Despite being released in 2024, the superstar collab was the most-watched music video on Vevo this year, with 932 million global views.

In other takeaways from Vevo’s annual end-of-year charts, “Like JENNIE” was the most-watched premiere with 33.4 million global views within the first 14 days of its release. JENNIE’s “ExtraL” with Doechii, “Love Hangover” with Dominic Fike, and “ZEN” were also some of the most watched premieres on Vevo worldwide, according to statement from the streaming platform.

“This was a historical year for Vevo, especially having a K-pop music video as our top premiere of the year,” comments JP Evangelista, senior VP, content, programming & marketing, Vevo. “Music video viewership in 2025 reflected diverse consumer palettes, with fans increasingly watching artists from all corners of the world, spanning a variety of genres, sub-genres, and local scenes.”

Meanwhile, the most-watched video of 2025 in the United States was Chris Brown’s “Residuals” (49.4 million) ahead of Mariah the Scientist’s “Burning Blue” (30.7 million) and Morgan Wallen’s “Smile” (26.6 million), respectively.

And in Australia, Lady Gaga pulled a magic trick as “Abracadabra” (2.24 million) led the way. Also, Mother Monster was the most reviewed artist in that market, with 22.3 million accumulated views across all her clips, ahead of Sabrina Carpenter (17.92 million) and Eminem (17.92 million), respectively. Homegrown rockers AC/DC crack the year-end top 10 artists frame, at No. 10, with 13.06 million total views.

Following the Nov. 26 premiere of the fifth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, the inspired companion project, Stranger Things: The WSQK Collection, Compiled by Rockin’ Robin, makes (air)waves on the charts. The vinyl set, exclusively sold at Target stores, tunes in to the top 10 on six charts, and also arrives on the overall Billboard 200 (all charts dated Dec. 13).

The album contains 10 songs from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s that would be heard on the show’s fictional radio station WSQK (94.5 FM The Squawk), in the also-fictional Hawkins, Ind. The set includes three Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s: Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (Part II),” Diana Ross’ “Upside Down” and Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now.”

Stranger Things: The WSQK Collection spends a fifth week atop Compilation Albums, debuts at No. 53 on the Billboard 200 and sold nearly 18,000 copies in the United States in the tracking week ending Dec. 4 (up 268%), according to Luminate. Since its Oct. 24 release, the project has sold 35,000 copies.

It also impacts Vinyl Albums (rising 13-3, a new peak), Top Rock Albums (No. 5 debut), Top Current Album Sales (20-5, new peak), Top Album Sales (26-6, new peak) and Top Rock & Alternative Albums (No. 7 debut).

The WSQK Collection album is part of a larger marketing campaign around the fictional radio station, which includes a sizable line of official merchandise with period-appropriate designs. Among the merch available: clothing, posters, car magnets, vanity license plates, a lava lamp, Funko Pop! figures, mugs and a Lego playset.

Further, for WSQK fans based in the United Kingdom, the radio station has been brought to life for a limited time in partnership with Global. Until Jan. 1, a WSQK broadcast will beam out through Global Player, but only for U.K. residents. Per a press release, “fans can expect local Hawkins updates and news from ‘Squawk of the Town,’ chats with the station’s resident agony aunt on ‘Talk To Tammy,’ there’s hot gossip and entertainment news from The Scoop brought to you by Scoops Ahoy, name that backwards playing tune with ‘Rewind at 9’ and ‘Dial-a-Dedication’ where fans can submit their own dedication to a loved one which could be read out live on air. All of this and more, alongside a non-stop stream of back-to-back 80s hits!”

In promos for this weekend’s new episode of Saturday Night Live, castmember Andrew Dismukes has the hardest time placing the accents of host Josh O’Connor and musical guest Lily Allen.

“I love the accent,” Dismukes says after O’Connor’s intro, as he starts rattling off incorrect guesses. “Slovenian? Egyptian?” When he reaches back into his Avatar knowledge and asks if the accent is “Na’vi,” O’Connor replies, “Colder.” “Elvish?” Dismukes counters. “Closer, actually!”

That’s when O’Connor’s fellow countrywoman chimes in: “Andrew, he’s obviously British.”

“Ah, and for the lady, do I detect a bit of Jamaican, mon?” Dismukes asks. “Sure,” Allen simply replies.

Watch the promos below:

Allen is returning as the musical guest for the first time in almost two decades, after her debut performance back in 2007. This time, she’s promoting her buzzy new comeback album West End Girl, for which she will mount an arena tour next year, starting March 2 in Glasgow, Scotland.

This weekend will mark O’Connor’s SNL debut, as he promotes his latest film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which was released in theaters last month and arrives Friday on Netflix. In addition to the third Knives Out installment, O’Connor starred in three movies this year — The Mastermind, The History of Sound and Rebuilding — after his breakthrough performances as Prince Charles on The Crown and opposite Zendaya in the 2024 erotic tennis thriller Challengers.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday aimed at blocking states from crafting their own regulations for artificial intelligence, saying the burgeoning industry is at risk of being stifled by a patchwork of onerous rules while in a battle with Chinese competitors for supremacy.

Members of Congress from both parties, as well as civil liberties and consumer rights groups, have pushed for more regulations on AI, saying there is not enough oversight for the powerful technology.

Related

But Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that “there’s only going to be one winner” as nations race to dominate artificial intelligence, and China’s central government gives its companies a single place to go for government approvals.

“We have the big investment coming, but if they had to get 50 different approvals from 50 different states, you can forget it because it’s impossible to do,” Trump said.

The executive order directs the Attorney General to create a new task force to challenge state laws, and directs the Commerce Department to draw up a list of problematic regulations.

It also threatens to restrict funding from a broadband deployment program and other grant programs to states with AI laws.

David Sacks, a venture capitalist with extensive AI investments who is leading Trump’s policies on cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence, said the Trump administration would only push back on “the most onerous examples of state regulation” but would not oppose “kid safety” measures.

What states have proposed

Four states — Colorado, California, Utah and Texas — have passed laws that set some rules for AI across the private sector, according to the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Those laws include limiting the collection of certain personal information and requiring more transparency from companies.

The laws are in response to AI that already pervades everyday life. The technology helps make consequential decisions for Americans, including who gets a job interview, an apartment lease, a home loan and even certain medical care. But research has shown that it can make mistakes in those decisions, including by prioritizing a particular gender or race.

States’ more ambitious AI regulation proposals require private companies to provide transparency and assess the possible risks of discrimination from their AI programs.

Beyond those more sweeping rules, many states have regulated parts of AI: barring the use of deepfakes in elections and to create nonconsensual porn, for example, or putting rules in place around the government’s own use of AI.

The holiday season can be tough for most, especially when it comes to gift-giving.

Add to the fact that a special interest, like K-pop, dominates your gifting decisions, making it increasingly difficult to know what that special soul in your life will like. This is especially true if you’re not into K-pop, a genre of music that has taken over the industry in the past few years thanks to bands like BTS, BLACKPINK, Stray Kids, EXO and so many more. You’re likely stumped, and there’s no shame in it. Not to fret, though. I’m here to guide you through the trials and tribulations of gifting for that picky K-pop fan in your life.

I’ve been a fan of the genre for over 18 years, really, before it was cool. I’ve seen the industry change and grow into the monumental success it is, which makes me the perfect translator, of sorts, to get you and your loved ones the gifts they will love just in time for the holidays.

I’ve pulled gifting ideas, including fan-made and official merch items like lightsticks, bags, keychains, posters and even shoes, from all across the web and categorized gifts by specific stan groups. Think ARMY (fans of BTS) to MY (fans of Aespa) and beyond. That way, you have the proper tools to shop like a certified K-pop stan for the die-hard fan in your life. It’s a gift guide for K-pop stans by a K-pop stan. What could be better than that? Shop my picks from Etsy, Amazon, Hot Topic and more below.

Luckily, this Mitchell & Ness x BLACKPINK Knicks Snapback is exceedingly stylish, so much so that it doesn’t even look like merch. The snapback retails for $57.60 and comes in BLACKPINK’s signature black and pink color scheme, accompanied by Knicks branding. Swico Remado BLACKPINK Pencil Case

A BLACKPINK-themed pencil case.

This cutie pencil case was a top pick for me because of the art. While you often see K-pop merch with a photo of your fave idols on the front, you rarely see art inspired by said group. The case hails from Amazon and retails for $16.99. It’s a vibrant pink hue, a nod to BLACKPINK’s color scheme, with a detailed drawing on the front of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. The pouch is packed with two big zip-up pockets, helping users organize their art supplies or even makeup brushes.

SKZO Keychain Photocard Holder (Blue)

A blue card holder for your photocards.

If you’re a K-pop stan, you’ll know that photocards are extremely precious. They certainly are for me. Each pull from an album is like a gamble, similar to blind boxes. You won’t know which member you’ll get until the album is opened. Photocards have become a big draw for album sales, allowing fans an interactive perspective that can be traded and sold, akin to Pokémon cards.

It’s a collector’s item for many, which is why this photocard sleeve is so nifty. Retailing for $9.99, the card holder is a bright blue hue and features each member’s SKZOO character along with a clear vinyl sleeve that acts as a window so you can see your photocard at all times. Got a precious Bangchan photocard you want to carry with you everywhere? Slip it into this cardholder and secure it to your keys or bag for safekeeping.

Hopping onto the bag-charm craze, I’m thinking these Stray Kids SKZOO keychains could be a major hit this holiday season. Retailing for $7.99, each charm comes equipped with cute charms of each member’s designated SKZOO character in a chibi fashion. The charms are colorful and eye-catching, offering visual interest to whatever they’re clipped onto. Snag yourself your bias’ SKZOO or grab the whole lot to support all eight members. We’d style these on a handbag or tote; however, they’d look good in a traditional fashion clipped to keys, too.

Universal Music Group is taking its approach to physical formats to another level with the opening of branded shopfronts on both sides of the Atlantic.

The music major this week announces two new UMusic Shop locations in New York and London, expanding on previous launches in Madrid and Tokyo.

First up is UMusic Shop NY, which opened Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 2 Penn Plaza in the heart of Manhattan, for what is UMG first permanent brick-and-mortar “superfan retail experience in North America”.

Then, UMG next week opens its U.K. store in London’s vibey Camden Market, in the city’s north.

At both locations, visitors can check-out exclusive custom collections and pieces inspired by UMG’s top artists, songwriters and labels, a statement reads.

UMusic Shop NY rings in the Holiday period with festive windows and a curated selection of vinyl, merchandise, and accessories from the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Post Malone, Beastie Boys, NAS, KISS and others.

To celebrate the opening, New York’s own Awake NY is partnering on an exclusive capsule collection — “Music Is Universal” — which is stocked only at the store.

In the days ahead, UMusic Shop NY will premiere two fan-driven pop-ups honoring the songs of Neil Diamond and celebrating the upcoming release of Song Sung Blue in cinemas later this month (Dec. 11) and Republic Records artist Conan Gray (Dec. 12).

Meanwhile, the shop in Camden, a music hub that has produced some of the capital’s most important artists, from Bob Marley, to The Clash, Madness, Amy Winehouse, Blur, and The Libertines, will feature exclusive artist collections, immersive installations, and live performances, along with a vinyl lounge, DJ booth, and recording studio-inspired sound room.

“The launch of these two stores in New York and London further expands on our longstanding commitment to enhancing the ability of UMG’s iconic roster of artists, labels, songwriters, and brands to connect with their fans through exclusive experiences, merchandise, and bespoke collections,” comments Susan Mazo, EVP & chief impact officer at Universal Music Group. “Both cities and locations have rich and deep connections with music culture, and we are excited to introduce these new hubs for fans to meet, share, and connect with the music, artists, and songs they are most passionate about.”

UMusic Shops are a partnership of UMG and UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, its entertainment-driven hospitality venture.

Don West, the hotly-tipped Australian soul artist, joins the roster at Kobalt.

West has enjoyed a bountiful breakthrough, culminating in his signing with the independent music publisher, announced Thursday, Dec. 11.

Hailing from Sydney, West’s throwback, soulful sounds have drawn favorable comparisons to the likes of Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers, and, despite being at such an early stage of his career, he has captured close to 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Just last month, West cracked the ARIA Albums Chart at No. 25 with his debut Give Me All Your Love, co-written by and Nathan Hawes (Kesmar, Surely Shirley, Lazywax) and produced entirely by Hawes.

“Don is effortlessly cool and charismatic. His deep-rooted love of classic soul and blues, combined with his coastal upbringing, has shaped a sound that’s resonating with audiences around the world,” comments Briese Abbott, Kobalt’s head of creative services Australia & New Zealand. His songwriting “feels instantly familiar, nostalgic yet contemporary, and inherently inviting,” Abbott remarks.

West made strides with his debut self-titled six-track EP, released last November, and embarked on a debut national headline tour the following month, including spots on the Spilt Milk festival.

He was nominated for the J Award, and was shortlisted at the APRA Music Awards, the AIR Awards, the inaugural NSW Music Prize in the breakthrough category, and in July of this year was named to Spotify’s RADAR program.

During the northern summer, West played a bunch of shows in Europe, including multiple sold-out London dates and festival appearances. In October, he was set to embark on his first headline tour of the United States, but had to postpone due to health issues.

“We are thrilled to have Kobalt representing Don West for his publishing,” says Max McKeith at FRNDS Management, noting Kobalt’s international teams “have all been hugely supportive of Don’s songwriting and we immediately felt like it was the right home for his music.”

West is currently on tour in his homeland, and once again on the Spilt Milk bill. Another global tour is planned for 2026.

With a network of 10 global offices, Kobalt serves over 1 million songs, representing the likes of Max Martin, Stevie Nicks, Phoebe Bridgers, Gunna, Foo Fighters, Paul McCartney, and many others.
