The playoffs are almost here and the NFL is ending the regular season with a must-see AFC North thriller between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl nets a 12th nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated Jan. 11, 2026) with 81,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Jan. 1 (down 42%), according to Luminate.

The Life of a Showgirl marks Swift’s sole second-longest run at No. 1. It surpasses the 11-week reigns of 1989 (2014-15) and Fearless (2008-09). Only The Tortured Poets Department, with 17 weeks at No. 1 in 2024, has more weeks atop the list among Swift’s 15 No. 1 albums, the most leaders among soloists.

The last album with at least 12 weeks at No. 1, among all releases, was Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem, with 12 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 in 2025. (The last album with more than 12 weeks at No. 1 was SZA’s SOS, which logged its 13th nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the May 3, 2025-dated list.)

Also in the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200, Peso Pluma and Tito Double P’s DINASTÍA debuts at No. 6, marking the third top 10 for the former and the first for the latter.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Jan. 10, 2026-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Jan. 6. Of The Life of a Showgirl’s 81,000 equivalent album units earned in the latest tracking week, SEA units comprise 47,000 (up 10%, equaling 61.58 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks; it rises 16-2 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales comprise 33,000 (down 66%; it notches a seventh nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units comprise 1,000 (up 25%).

The top 10 of the latest Billboard 200 gets shaken up by the exodus of most holiday titles, as the new chart reflects the tracking week of Dec. 26 through Jan. 1. In turn, many non-holiday titles surge up the list, even with declines in overall activity.

Wallen’s I’m the Problem climbs 6-2 with 69,000 equivalent album units earned (down 8%), while fellow former No. 1 the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack sails 10-3 with 51,000 (down 18%). Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving reaches a new high as it vaults 14-4 (surpassing its No. 5 peak in November) with 50,000 (down less than 1%). Sabrina Carpenter’s chart-topping Man’s Best Friend rallies 19-5 with 40,000 (but down 5%).

Peso Pluma and Tito Double P’s DINASTÍA debuts at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, scoring the former his third top 10 and the latter, his first. The set launches with 33,000 equivalent album units earned, of which SEA units comprise essentially all (equaling 45.29 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs; it debuts at No. 5 on Top Streaming Albums). The album was preceded by the single “Intro,” which debuted at its No. 8 high on the Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Dec. 6).

Rounding out the rest of the top 10 of the new Billboard 200 are four former No. 1s: SZA’s SOS shoots 24-7 (32,000 equivalent album units, down 11%), Tate McRae’s So Close To What jumps 27-8 (nearly 32,000, up 2%), Wallen’s One Thing at a Time drives 36-9 (27,000, up 1%) and Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet zooms 30-10 (nearly 27,000, down 8%).

Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes a thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. Luminate reviews and authenticates data. In partnership with Billboard, data deemed suspicious or unverifiable is removed, using established criteria, before final chart calculations are made and published.

Kid Cudi hinted that a full Australian tour is in the works after returning to the country for the first time in more than a decade, telling fans he was already “planting the seeds” for a headline run following his recent festival appearances across Australia.

The Cleveland-born rapper and singer made his long-awaited return to Australian stages over the New Year’s period, appearing at both Wildlands Festival and Beyond The Valley, two major events produced by Untitled Group.

In a video posted to his Instagram Story on Jan. 3, Cudi reflected on the experience and suggested he would soon return for a “full” tour across Australia.

“This whole trip, New Zealand, Australia — this whole little tour was f—ing epic,” Cudi said in the clip.

He thanked fans who attended the shows, adding that seeing crowds “losing their s—t to every song” and “singing every word” meant a great deal to him.

“I’ll be back soon,” he continued, before revealing he had already been “planting the seeds for a little tour down under.” Cudi went on to promise that when he returns, he’ll do it “right,” teasing “a full set” featuring “all the smashes, all the deep cuts and some new s—t.”

While no dates or routing details have been confirmed, the comments immediately sparked speculation among Australian fans, many of whom have waited years for Cudi to bring a full headline show back to the region.

Cudi’s appearance formed part of Australia’s Wildlands Festival on Jan. 1, which went coast-to-coast with a bill headlined by Dom Dolla, Kid Cudi and Addison Rae.

The lineup also featured Chris Stussy, KETTAMA, Luude, 070 Shake and Cassian. The single-day event kicked off at Brisbane Showgrounds on Jan. 1, before traveling west to Perth for a Jan. 3 show at Arena Joondalup.

Wildlands Festival is produced by Untitled Group, the events powerhouse behind Beyond The Valley festival at, which took place at Barunah Plains in Victoria from Dec. 28 through to Jan. 1.

Cudi also performed at Beyond The Valley, which recently wrapped its landmark 10th anniversary edition. Presented by Untitled Group and triple j and supported by Visit Victoria, the festival sold out instantly and welcomed 40,000 attendees to Barunah Plains.

The milestone edition was defined by a series of headline moments, including Dom Dolla counting in the new year and Addison Rae making festival history with her first-ever festival appearance.

The Muppet Show is making a comeback — featuring Sabrina Carpenter and Seth Rogen.

Disney+ has released a first look at its upcoming Muppet Show special event, which premieres on the streamer and ABC on Feb. 4. The trailer shows the familiar faces of beloved characters Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and more getting ready to take the stage at the original Muppet Theatre with the help of some new friends.

“It’s the return of The Muppet Show — back on the very stage where it all started, and then ended, and is maybe starting again depending on how tonight goes,” Kermit announces in the 30-second clip.

The preview for The Muppet Show reveals special guest Sabrina Carpenter buttering up Miss Piggy backstage.

“You are an icon,” says Carpenter, who welcomed Miss Piggy to her own show in November, “arresting” the Muppet star at the final stop of the Short N’ Sweet Tour in Los Angeles. More recently, the pop star released Man’s Best Friend (Bonus Track Version) on streaming services with the song “Such a Funny Way” on Christmas Eve. (A lyric video for the track also arrived as a holiday surprise for fans.)

“You’re too sweet,” Miss Piggy replies before cheekily adding, “Go on.”

Seth Rogen, executive producer on the new Muppet Show project, also gets some screentime in the sneak peek.
