In a sweet post on Weverse after the ceremony at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas — where the boy band is currently in the midst of a four-night run at Allegiant Stadium while on tour — the K-pop performer shared an edited version of BTS’ winner card to display who he thinks should’ve won artist of the year instead. “ARMY,” the card says instead of the septet’s band name.

“Our ARMY won an award,” Jimin wrote in the caption, according to the platform’s English translation.

The singer’s tribute to ARMY recognizes that the AMAs are fan voted, meaning BTS’ passionate listeners were 100% the reason for the group’s big victory Monday night. Jimin and his bandmates — RM, j-hope, SUGA, Jin, Jung Kook and V — also won song of the summer for Billboard Hot 100-topping single “SWIM” and best male K-pop artist.

“ARMYs, we made it once again,” RM said while accepting artist of the year. “It’s a fan-voted award, so our biggest thanks and gratitude goes to the ARMYs all over the world. You stood by us for the past 13 years — thank you so much.”

Jimin added at the podium, “Thank you for passionately following us on tour and showing so much love in every city.” Shortly after the ceremony, he shared an adorable video of himself on his Instagram Story getting celebratory cuddles from a sweet dog, who licks his face.

As Jimin mentioned, BTS is now on tour in support of new album ARIRANG, which topped the Billboard 200. After the band finishes its shows in Vegas on Thursday (May 28), the members will travel to South Korea for two shows at Busan Asiad Main Stadium in June.
