Nikki Glaser received three Primetime Emmy nominations on Wednesday (July 8), two for her own special Nikki Glaser: Good Girl and one as host of the 83rd annual Golden Globes.

The Globes are nominated for outstanding variety special (live) for the first time since 2020, before a scandal over membership and ethics took the show off the air for one year and led to a reckoning and rebirth.

“Hosting the Golden Globes is the greatest job I may ever have,” Glaser said in a statement. “I am so thrilled that the incredible team behind this massive live production got the nomination they deserve. Thank you to the Television Academy! We are all thrilled that we get to attend and enjoy an award show rather than working our asses off at one!”

Glaser has already been announced as host of the 2027 Golden Globes, which will be her third consecutive outing as host. She’ll be the first person or team to host three years running since Tina Fey and Amy Poehler co-hosted from 2013-15. Glaser’s other nominations this year are as executive producer/performer of Nikki Glaser: Good Girl, which is vying for outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) and outstanding writing for variety special as the show’s sole writer.

Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, also weighed in on the show’s nomination for outstanding variety special (live).

“This Emmy nomination is a tremendous honor and a reflection of the extraordinary talent, creativity, and commitment of everyone who helped bring the 83rd Annual Golden Globes to life. From our host Nikki Glaser, to our producers and production partners to our creative teams, presenters, and everyone behind the scenes, this recognition belongs to the many people whose passion and dedication made this year’s show possible. We are grateful to the Television Academy for this incredible honor.”

RuPaul Charles was nominated for outstanding host for a reality or reality competition program for RuPaul’s Drag Race for the 11th year in a row, extending his record for the most nominations in the history of the category.

“This wonderful news comes as we are filming the 19th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. We are all extremely grateful for the love, the freedom and the employment. On behalf of our brilliant, lovely cast and crew, thank you to the Television Academy for 11 gag-worthy nominations. Everybody say love!”
