Monsta X is feeling it with “Growing Pains,” the K-pop outfit’s first release of the year.
Arriving at the stroke of midnight, after a teaser dropped earlier in the week, “Growing Pains” is lifted from the group’s forthcoming English-language album.
“Growing Pains” explores themes of self-discovery, perseverance, and identity, and, as the name suggests, the universal challenge of navigating adulthood and sacrifices made along the way — all of it underpinned with the energy of a slick ’80s power ballad.
On it, the lads sing, “baby I’ll be okay… one day I’ll understand that I’m good as I am,” highlighting a shift toward embracing imperfection, reads a statement, while the line “all the strength I’ve found, I’m still standing now” underscores endurance.
The bittersweet hook, “I’m finding my way dealing with these growing pains,” points to our eternal struggle with personal evolution.
“Growing Pains” is the followup to “baby blue,” which Monsta X debuted at iHeartRadio’s 2025 Jingle Ball last December. Both cuts will be housed on their as-yet untitled third English-language collection, a first for a K-pop act.
Monsta X got their close-up last Christmas with the Connect X concert movie, which celebrated their 10th anniversary as a group and as a tribute to the journey shared by members Joohoney, I.M., Hyungwon, Kihyun, Minhyuk and Shownu with their fandom, known as MONBEBE.
Earlier in 2025, Joohoney, Hyungwon and Kihyun were the final group members to complete their mandatory South Korean military service, after which time the band hopped back in the studio and released The X EP in September to mark their milestone anniversary.
The six-strong outfit became just the third K-pop act to reach the Billboard 200 top 10, doing so in 2020 with their first English album All About Luv, which bowed at No. 5. Then, in 2021, Monsta X dropped their second English album, The Dreaming, peaking at No. 21 on the all-genres list.

Nearly eight years after J. Cole introduced The Fall-Off‘s intro with KOD‘s “1985” closer in 2018, the Dreamville rapper’s final album has arrived.
The Fall-Off hit streaming services on Friday (Feb. 6), tying a bow on the North Carolina icon’s decorated career. The project is a double album (Disc 29 and Disc 39), which boasts 11 tracks plus a bonus on each, making 24 in total.
“The Fall-Off, a double album made with intentions to be my last, brings the concept of my first project full circle. Disc 29 tells a story of me returning to my hometown at age 29,” he wrote when revealing the album’s tracklist on Instagram Wednesday (Feb. 4).
Cole continued: “A decade after moving to New York, accomplishing what would have seemed impossible to most, I was at a crossroads with the 3 loves of my life; my woman, my craft, and my city. Disc 39 gives insight into my mindset during a similar trip home, this time as a 39-year-old man. Older and a little closer to peace.”
When The Fall-Off was just hours away, the North Carolina native intensified hype surrounding the project with a trailer on Thursday (Feb. 6), which found Cole back in the makeshift studio of his childhood home that ignited his love for rap. The clip was soundtracked by a speech from English mathematician Andrew Wiles, and how he found beauty in the suffering through his labor of love.
J. Cole announced the album officially in January and released his “Disc 2 Track 2″ single, which saw him cleverly rap about his life’s story in reverse.
Cole rang in his 41st birthday on Jan. 28 with a surprise, as he dropped the Birthday Blizzard ’26EP,which packaged four hard-hitting freestyles that were hosted by DJ Clue.
There’s been plenty of pump-fake retirements throughout rap history, but Cole is intent on The Fall-Off being his goodbye album. If this is indeed the finish line, what a ride it’s been.

It’s Friday, and Nick Jonas has brought his Sunday Best.
Dropping at midnight, Sunday Best (via Republic Records) is the Jonas Brother’s first solo project in nearly five years.
The collection is led by the single “Gut Punch,” which Jonas debut live last November while on tour in Las Vegas, and performed just this week on The Tonight Show.
“Gut Punch” is one of 11 tracks on an album that explores Nick’s life as a husband and a dad. This bro is all grown up, at 33 years old.
“I’m so excited to share these new stories, candid thoughts, quiet walks home in the city, and snapshots of my life over these past few years,” the pop star remarked in a statement. “And while this album was made over the course of the last two years, it was truly 33 years in the making.”
It’s Jonas’ fifth solo album, and the follow-up to 2021’s Spaceman, which reached No. 12 on the Billboard 200. Since then, he released two albums with brothers Joe and Kevin: 2023’s The Album and 2025’s Greetings From Your Hometown, both of which charted in the top 10.
As a soloist, Nick has also charted eight songs on the Billboard Hot 100 over the course of his career, including the top 10 hit “Jealous.”
The American artist spent much of last year on tour with the JoBros in celebration of their 20th anniversary as a band. Just prior to Christmas, Jonas gifted 200 or so lucky fans the chance for an early preview of the album, when he performed at Toronto’s Powder Room, which was decked out for the occasion in a Sunday Best theme.
On the night Jonas sat for a Q&A where he discussed the origins of Sunday Best and his headspace. The album took shape in the past two years, Billboard Canada reported at the time, and was inspired by his church upbringing, by the emotions he and his wife Priyanka Chopra felt after the L.A. fires, and by Canadian songwriter JP Saxe.

Bethany Cosentino, best known as the frontwoman of indie pop-rock duo Best Coast, is speaking out after the latest release of files in the case of serial child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein revealed that Casey Wasserman, the founder and CEO of her booking agency, Wasserman Music, had a close relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted sex trafficker and Epstein’s main accomplice.
In an Instagram post published Thursday night (Feb. 5), the singer-songwriter made a series of demands, including calling for the removal of her and her band’s name from the agency’s website; for Wasserman to step down from his post; and for the business to change its name to erase the imprint of its founder, who oversees an agency that represents such superstars as Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, SZA, Noah Kahan, Chappell Roan, Lorde and Kenny Chesney.

“It has come to my attention that the founder and CEO of my agency, Casey Wasserman, had a documented romantic relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell between the years of 2001 and 2003, and multiple documented connections and communications with Jeffrey Epstein confirmed by emails now part of public records,” Consentino wrote. “Ghislaine Maxwell is not a neutral character in a messy story — she is a convicted sex trafficker who helped facilitate the abuse of minors. As an artist represented by Wasserman, I did not consent to having my name or my career tied to someone with this kind of association to exploitation.
“Staying quiet isn’t something I can do in good conscience — especially in a moment when men in power are so often protected, excused, or allowed to move on without consequence. Pretending this isn’t a big deal is not an option for me.”
In a tranche of more than 3 million files related to the Epstein investigation released by the Department of Justice on Jan. 30, Wasserman, who launched the powerful agency in 1998, was found to have exchanged dozens of flirtatious emails with Maxwell in 2003. More than two decades ago, several years before Epstein’s crimes were known to the public, New York reported that Wasserman and his then-wife, Laura Ziffren, flew on Epstein’s plane on an AIDS fact-finding mission to Africa in 2002 — a trip that also included such luminaries as President Bill Clinton and actors Chris Tucker and Kevin Spacey.
The emails between Wasserman and Maxwell revealed a flirtatious, perhaps sexual, relationship between the pair. In one email dated April 1, 2003, Wasserman wrote, “Where are you, I miss you. I will be in nyc for 4 days starting april 22…can we book that massage now?”
In another dated March 16, 2003, he wrote, “So what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit?”
On Jan. 31, a day after the release of the latest round of files in the Epstein case, Wasserman — who also serves as chair of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics organizing committee — sent a statement to The Hollywood Reporter apologizing for his involvement with Maxwell while denying “a personal or business relationship” with Epstein himself.
“I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light,” Wasserman said. “I never had a personal or business relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. As is well documented, I went on a humanitarian trip as part of a delegation with the Clinton Foundation in 2002 on the Epstein plane. I am terribly sorry for having any association with either of them.”
Cosentino bristled at that apology in her Instagram post, calling Wasserman’s words insufficient. “Regret without accountability is just damage control — an attempt to move on while the rest of us are expected to sit with the discomfort of our careers being publicly tied to him,” she said.
“Artists are tired of swallowing scandals like this,” Cosentino continued. “We are tired of learning, over and over, that men who control access, resources, money, and so-called safety in our industry are given endless grace. We are tired of being asked to treat proximity to something horrific as an unfortunate situation we should simply move past — especially when the person involved still holds all the power. And we are tired of watching harm minimized or brushed off as ‘a long time ago,’ while the impact of that harm is still very real, especially for women and survivors of sexual assault.”
Later in the message, Cosentino indicated that she intends to continue her professional relationship with her agent at Wasserman, Sam Hunt, stating that she has worked with him “for over 15 years” and that he “has done incredible work in representing me.
“I am in the Sam Hunt business,” she wrote. “I am not in the Wasserman business.”
Representatives for Wasserman did not immediately respond to Billboard‘s request for comment.

Normani has carved out a chart-topping pop music career over the past decade-plus as a member of Fifth Harmony and on her own, but on the new cover of Sports Illustrated‘s Swimsuit Issue, she’s representing a different part of her life: as one of the wives and girlfriends of the NFL.
Last March, Normani announced her engagement to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf, after the couple had been set up two years prior by fellow NFL star Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara. Normani stars in the Swimsuit Issue alongside five fellow WAGs: Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany Mahomes, Jordan Love’s wife Ronika Love, George Kittle’s wife Claire Kittle, Jared Goff’s wife Christen Goff, and Jake Ferguson’s fiancée Haley Cavinder.

In her cover story, Normani confirmed that new music is “in the works” — the follow-up to her 2024 debut solo album Dopamine — and that she’s “excited” about it. She also confirmed that she’s paying attention to all the fans clamoring for music. “You know, I pay attention to my fans,” she said. “I might not be the best when it comes to social media, and I’ve made that vow to myself that I am going to be better at that — not only for myself, but also for the people who support me and my fans — but I pay close attention, and I see their responses. I see what they want and what their desires are for me. I’m taking it back to my roots a little bit as well.”
When asked about her dream musical partnership for a future album, Normani had to name-check her idol, Beyoncé. “She has been such an influential part of why I ended up falling in love with music, and not just music itself, but also entertainment,” Normani said. “Just the grace that she carries, the poise that she carries, her ability to continue to be innovative for decades and decades. That is difficult to do, but she’s mastered it, and, you know, she always, I feel like, competes against herself. She is her standard.”
Normani has scored four top 40 solo Billboard Hot 100 hits since 2018, including the top 10s “Dancing With a Stranger” (with Sam Smith) and “Love Lies” (with Khalid), which also spent two weeks atop the Pop Airplay chart.

Warner Music Group (WMG) reported that quarterly revenue rose 10% to $1.84 billion on Thursday (Feb. 5) as music from artists like Alex Warren and sombr contributed to broad-based growth across recorded music, publishing and streaming revenue.
WMG CEO Robert Kyncl told investors and analysts on a wide-ranging call Thursday that the company is “humming,” with several consecutive quarters of streaming revenue growth and market share gains.

“We’re very pleased to see our consistent performance,” Kyncl said. “We are really firing on most cylinders that there are, and all of it is underpinned by our incredible ability of artist development.”
Here are some of the highlights.
It plans to spend big on catalogs.
Warner and Bain Capital’s 50-50 joint venture, established in mid-2025, is now worth about $1.65 billion, and the companies plan to spend a significant portion of those funds on catalog acquisitions this year, Warner CFO Armin Zerza said on the call.
“We plan to deploy a significant portion of the JV’s total capacity by the end of the fiscal year,” Zerza said. “This combination of organic and inorganic investment will fortify our core, giving us greater scale to capitalize on industry trends as well as emerging opportunities like AI that will [rely] heavily on iconic content.”

Warner Music and Bain Capital Launch $1.2 Billion Catalog Acquisition Venture
The company continues to work its existing catalog through placements in shows like Netflix’s Stranger Things, which used Prince‘s “Purple Rain” and David Bowie‘s “Heroes.” After the episodes aired, “Pruple Rain” charted on Billboard’s Hot 100 for the first time in a decade, and its weekly streams are now six times higher than prior to the Stranger Things sync, Kyncl said. Weekly streaming activity for Bowie’s “Heroes” is nearly 2.5 times higher than before, he added.
It’s leaning into AI.
Warner is the first — and so far, only — major to reach licensing deals with two of the leading AI music generation platforms, Suno and Udio. The agreements, which effectively ended Warner’s part in lawsuits filed by UMG and others in 2025, allow Warner to “shape” AI models that are quickly impacting the commercial music industry, Kyncl has said. Suno agreed to offer new licensed music-making models on its platform as part of the agreement, according to a press release announcing the news.
Establishing partnerships early was a priority for Warner, Zerza said, and it is working with those companies to promote consumption-business models that boost cash flow and increase engagement with its catalog and artists.
“We expect [the Suno] partnership to be a material top and bottom line growth driver, starting in fiscal 2027,” Zerza said.

WMG is incorporating AI into its A&R business to discover new artists. It’s also bringing it to bear in its relationships with the big streaming platforms — to track exposure for its artists and improve consumer engagement, and to figure out which songs from its catalog are ripe for remixes and music videos, Zerza said.
“Many of our artists and songwriters [are] already leveraging [AI] tools to more analytically driven, precise deployment of marketing dollars, as well as my real-time forecasting and analytics,” Zerza added.
It has a packed upcoming release schedule.
Quarterly revenue for major music companies remains heavily impacted by hit music, and Kyncl voiced optimism about Warner’s upcoming release schedule, starting with Bruno Mars, whose fourth studio album comes out in late February.
“We have a steady stream of releases from new and established stars dropping every week for the rest of [the second quarter],” Kyncl said.
Other artists expected to release music before March 30 include Charli xcx, Kehlani, sombr, Alex Warren and Fred Again..

Backed by a suave Afrobeats rhythm and urban undertones, the former CNCO members sing about a fractured relationship and pushing their feelings below zero to survive the heartbreak. “I’d better put my feelings on ice/ This isn’t going to happen to me again/ You made me feel like an idiot/ made me believe I was the only one,” goes the heart-wrenching chorus.
On the track, Erick, 25, and Christopher, 30, not only showcase the bromance that kicked off more than 10 years ago, but also their emotionally rooted and melodic harmonies powered by their dulcet vocals.
“Bajo Cero” comes four years after CNCO — formed in 2015 by Erick, Christopher, Richard Camacho and Zabdiel de Jesus (in addition to Joel Pimentel, who left in 2021) — announced their split in 2022 after nearly seven years as a group. As part of the boy band, both the Cuban and Ecuadorian acts earned multiple hits on the Billboard charts, including three No. 1 albums on the Latin Pop Albums chart, such as Primera Cita that spent eight weeks at the top in 2016.
In fall 2024, Billboard exclusively announced that Brian launched his solo career under an exclusive deal with Warner Music Latina and Big Bad Wolf Management Group, and last year, he dropped his debut EP called BTW…Lo Intenté (By the Way, I Tried). Vélez, on the other hand, has been releasing music independently since 2025.
Both men first hinted at their reunion in a Dec. 30 Instagram post that showed them having a jam session together. Leading up to the release of “Bajo Cero,” they have shared various posts of the two at the recording studio.

After a breakthrough 2025 that included his first three Billboard Hot 100 hits, his debut album, and his first Grammy nomination, sombr returned Thursday (Feb. 5) with “Homewrecker,” his first new song and music video of the year.

The music video matches the story line, with sombr finding himself in a love triangle with Quenlin Blackwell and Milo Manheim in the western-themed visual. It appears that Blackwell and sombr are co-starring in a western movie, for which Manheim plays the philandering director with a wandering eye. While Manheim’s director character is paying attention to every woman on set except for Blackwell, sombr and his leading lady fall in love.
sombr is fresh off performing at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, where he was nominated for best new artist and performed one of his trio of 2025 hits “12 to 12” in a medley alongside his fellow nominees. The pop star saw three songs from his Billboard 200 top 10 album I Barely Know Her hit the Hot 100 last year: “12 to 12” peaked at No. 41, while he hit the top 20 with “Undressed” (No. 16) and “Back to Friends” (No. 7).
Later this month, sombr is up for his first two BRIT Awards at the Feb. 28 show: international artist of the year and international song of the year for “Undressed.” He kicks off a U.K. and European tour next week and then returns Stateside in April for back-to-back Coachella weekends and May for Bottlerock Napa Valley.

If there were a Grammy Award for most shocking red-carpet look, Chappell Roan almost definitely would have won with her daring, gravity-defying Mugler nipple-ring dress. But how did her team pull off the faux piercings while keeping the pop star relatively covered up?
Gum wrappers — in part. Makeup artist and prosthetics expert Sasha Glasser revealed as much in an interview with Allure published a few days after the Sunday awards show, also sharing that she attached the gown’s nipple rings to special-grade prosthetic nipple coverings painted to match Roan’s exact skin tone. “The idea was for her to not be so naked,” Glasser told the publication of why they went with the blurred-out nipple look.

But because the coverings weren’t strong enough to bear the weight of the nipple rings and dress fabric on their own, Roan’s styling team also needed to layer a stretchy nude mesh over the prosthetic. And because they had to pierce the mesh and prosthetics with the nipple rings before they could paint them, Glasser says she and the musician’s stylist, Genesis Webb, used gum wrappers to keep the rings clean.
“Genesis and I tested it,” Glasser recalled. “We’d put the ring in the prosthetic and tug, and it would rip out, so that was scary.”
By the time the red carpet came along, the team had pulled it off — and the result was jaw-dropping. Billboard‘s Instagram video of the look alone garnered more than 50 million views in just 24 hours alone.
Later, Roan posted about the discourse on Instagram, sharing photos of her look and writing, “Giggling because I don’t even think this is THAT outrageous of an outfit.”
“The look’s actually so awesome and weird,” she added. “I recommend just exercising your free will it’s really fun and silly … Thank you for having me @grammys and those who voted for me!!”
After walking the red carpet, Roan changed outfits to a cream-colored dress to present the best new artist award, which she won in 2025. The prize went to Olivia Dean this year.
