A judge on Friday declined to immediately put Cher’s son into the legal conservatorship that she is seeking and he is opposing, but the court will take up the issue again within weeks.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Jessica A. Uzcategui ruled that Cher’s attorneys had not given Elijah Blue Allman and his lawyers the necessary documents to give them sufficient time to make their case, and scheduled another hearing for Jan. 29.

Last week, the Oscar- and Grammy-winning singer and actor filed a petition for control of the finances of Elijah Blue Allman, 47, saying his struggles with addiction and mental health have left him unable to manage his money and potentially put his life in danger by making him able to buy drugs.

Allman receives money from a trust left by his late father, musician Gregg Allman. Cher’s attorney Gabrielle Vidal said at Friday’s hearing that a payment from the trust is pending, and the immediate establishment of a conservatorship is “a life-and-death proposition.”

But Uzcategui said “I am not persuaded.”

She cited Cher’s attorneys’ unwillingness to share material with Allman’s attorneys when contacted Thursday. Cher’s lawyers said they had confidentiality concerns and shared the documents instead with Allman’s court-appointed lawyer.

Allman said in a court filing before the hearing that a conservatorship is not necessary. He acknowledged struggles with addiction and irresponsible spending, but said he is under the care of a doctor, has been sober for more than three months, is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and is willing to submit drug tests.

“While I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for my best interests and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time,” the filing said.

Allman was in court Friday but spoke only to briefly answer the judge’s questions. His lawyers declined comment after the hearing.

Cher did not attend. Her attorneys did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Ice Cube is sharing his thoughts after Katt Williams’ viral Club Shay Shay interview, in which he discussed a potential bathroom rape scene in the Friday After Next.

Cube denied via X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday (Jan. 5) that he would film a rape scene after Williams said on the podcast that he had pushed for the removal of the sexual assault clip. The scene in reference features Williams’ character Money Mike, who would allegedly get cornered in a bathroom by Terry Crews’ character Damon. During his interview, Williams said “Money Mike, in the original script, got raped in the bathroom,” and he ultimately advocated for the scene to be cut.

“I would never shoot a rape scene in a movie, especially Friday, where you actually see this happening on camera. That ain’t my style,” Ice Cube said. “The plier joke was always in the script. We would never ever show that. That’s not my style if you look at any of my movies. So, that was never a discussion.”

Ice Cube added that there was a “discrepancy” in how he and Williams remembered how it went down. “At that point in everybody’s career, we will listen to a certain extent, but we wasn’t gonna change the movie for it. For any actor, you know?” he said. “We do what we feel and if it was a rape scene, it would have been in the movie. There was no reason not to shoot it. But that’s not my style.”

I’ve been planning for ages and I finally get to tell you: I’m going back on tour,” Swift said on GMA, announcing the news. “The tour is called the Eras tour and it’s a journey through all of the musical eras of my career.”

Paramore announced Thursday (Jan. 4) that they are dropping out of this year’s iHeartRadio ALTer EGO show “due to unforeseen circumstances.”

“The band apologizes for any inconvenience,” the group wrote in their statement on Instagram Stories, which you can read here.

Other than the statement on Stories, Paramore’s Instagram account has been wiped clean, leaving fans to speculate about what the “unforeseen circumstances” could be and how they might affect the future of the band.

In the meantime, Fall Out Boy will step in as a new addition to the lineup for the concert, taking place Jan. 13 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

“We are thrilled to join the 2024 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO lineup and celebrate our most recent album So Much (For) Stardust,” Fall Out Boy wrote in a press statement. “We are looking forward to closing out an incredible night of music in advance of our upcoming ‘So Much For (2our)Dust’ US concert run.”

The album was the band’s first since After Laughter was released in May 2017; it debuted and peaked at No. 6. The group’s last album to go higher was its self-titled 2013 release, which debuted at No. 1 on the April 27, 2013-dated list.

Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is back! Ahead of the new season’s release, a trailer was released on Thursday (Jan. 4)

The series marks Marvel’s first Black teenage girl superhero (actress Diamond White is voicing Moon Girl) and features guest voices from Alison Brie, Andy Cohen, Daveed Diggs, Maya Hawke, Jennifer Hudson, Method Man, Cobie Smulders, Wesley Snipes and more.

“In season two, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur are in their element as superheroes; however, as Moon Girl’s superhero-ing intertwines more with her personal life, she must decide if the cost of keeping her identity a secret is worth the toll it takes on her family,” the new season’s description reads.

Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur is executive produced by three-time Grammy winning producer, songwriter and instrumentalist Raphael Saadiq. In the comic book world, this is huge,” he previously told Billboard. “To be able to see a Black teenage genius girl doing amazing things, working out problems, explaining to people how not to get caught up in a box without being preachy.”

The new season is set to premiere on the Disney Channel on Friday (Feb. 2), before it hits Disney+ the next day. Watch the Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur trailer below.
