HUNTR/X, Audrey Nuna, Ejae & Rei Ami and Mark Sonnenblick caught up with Billboard’s Tetris Kelly on the red carpet of the 2026 Golden Globes.
The 2026 Golden Globe Awards have arrived!
Billboard is on the red carpet at The Beverly Hilton, and we’re also updating the full list of Golden Globe winners all Sunday night (Jan. 11) below.
Of course, Billboard will be paying special attention to the two music categories: best original song and best original score. There’s a lot of star power in the song category — including the eight-week Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Golden,” performed by HUNTR/X (EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI) for the Netflix animated powerhouse KPop Demon Hunters.
The massive hit has competition from Miley Cyrus’ “Dream as One” from Avatar: Fire & Ash, which was written by Cyrus, Andrew Wyatt, Mark Ronson and Simon Franglen; Miles Caton’s “I Lied to You,” written by Raphael Saadiq and Ludwig Göransson for Sinners; Cynthia Erivo’s “No Place Like Home” written by Stephen Schwartz for Wicked: For Good; Ariana Grande’s “The Girl in the Bubble,” also written by Schwartz for the Wicked sequel; and Nick Cave’s title track from Train Dreams, which Cave co-wrote with Aaron Dessner.
In the score category, perennial nominees Alexandre Desplat (Frankenstein), Jonny Greenwood (One Battle After Another), Ludwig Göransson (Sinners) and Hans Zimmer (F1) will compete against first-timers Kangding Ray (Sirāt) and Max Richter (Hamnet).
You can follow along with all the winners — music and beyond — in our updating complete winners list below.
The Golden Globes are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Eldridge Industries and Billboard parent company Penske Media.
“I Just Might,” the new single from Bruno Mars, tops this week’s fan-voted music poll.
Music fans voted in a poll published Friday (Jan. 9) on Billboard, choosing the singer’s fresh arrival as their favorite new drop.
“I Just Might” was released in a week that also saw new music streaming in from The Kid LAROI, Zach Bryan, Robyn and more. Bruno Mars maintained a strong lead up until the poll’s closing on Sunday, ultimately surpassing 71% of the vote.
It’s been almost 10 years since Bruno Mars released a new solo album (following 2016’s 24K Magic, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200). New set The Romantic, his fourth full-length collection, is due Feb. 27 from Atlantic Records. “I Just Might” and its official music video — which the artist himself co-directed (with Daniel Ramos) and co-choreographed (alongside Phil Tayag) — offers a first taste of his new work.
Last week also brought the reveal of the pop star’s upcoming Romantic Tour, which launches in April and runs through October across North America, Canada and Europe. Presale tickets will be available beginning Jan. 14, with a general on-sale coming a day later.
Among the new releases trailing behind “I Just Might” are The Kid LAROI’s Before I Forget EP (with 17% of the vote), Zach Bryan’s With Heaven on Top album (with 3% of the vote) and Robyn’s new single “Talk to Me” and (with 2% of the vote).

Crossover tenor Andrea Bocelli will be among the headline performers for the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony on Feb. 6, joining the previously announced pop diva Mariah Carey, organizers announced on Sunday (Jan. 11).
The 2026 Olympics opening ceremony will be centered in Milan’s landmark San Siro soccer stadium, featuring the Parade of Athletes and entertainment over the course of the three-hour spectacle that is expected to be the most widely viewed moment of the Games.
Reflecting the Milan Cortina Games’ status as the most spread-out Olympics in history, elements of the opening ceremony will also be conducted in three other locations, allowing athletes from all far-flung disciplines to participate. Moments will be beamed to the televised audience from Cortina in the heart of the Dolomite mountains, Livigno in the Italian Alps, as well as Predazzo in the autonomous province of Trento.
The ceremony will also include a tribute to the late Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani, who died in September at the age of 91. Armani has long designed the Italian team’s Olympic uniforms, and his legacy as one of the founders of Italian ready-to-wear is tightly tied to Milan, where he left his mark with the Armani theater, Silos museum and sponsorship of the EA7 Emporio Armani Milano basketball team.
Bocelli, a classically trained singer whose recordings include classical and pop music, has performed for the coronation of King Charles III and for the 75th anniversary of the Italian Constitution in Rome. In a career-spanning release titled Duets (30th Anniversary), Bocelli sings in Italian, English, French and Spanish, collaborating with musicians ranging from Karol G to Chris Stapleton.
He will appear at the Olympic ceremony during a break from a world tour, according to his official calendar, traveling the next day to perform at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 7, followed by six other U.S. dates.
Bocelli’s performance “will constitute one of the most iconic moments of the event, uniting the spectacle with the essence of Olympic values,’’ organizers said in a statement, adding that Bocelli’s inclusion will “contribute a contemporary and global tone to the narrative.’’
Details about the ceremony, which is being produced by Marco Balich, a veteran of more than a dozen Olympic ceremonies, have been trickling out over recent months.
Carey, the first international star named to perform at San Siro, adds some American pop-star pedigree to the opening event. The six-time Grammy award winner announced her participation in an Instagram post saying, “Ci vediamo a Milano,’’ Italian for “See you in Milan.”
Italian actors Sabrina Impacciatore, who appeared in the second season of HBO’s The White Lotus, and Matilde De Angelis, who starred in the Netflix series The Law According to Lydia Poet, will also participate in the opening ceremony, organizers have announced.
A crowd of 60,000 spectators is expected, with millions more watching on television.
Internationally acclaimed ballet star Roberto Bolle will headline the closing ceremony, which is slated for Verona’s ancient Roman Arena on Feb. 22.
Dave Matthews is taking aim at the Trump administration in a fiery message following the fatal shooting of Renee Good in Minneapolis.
The 59-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee shared a lengthy Instagram video on Friday (Jan. 9), criticizing President Donald Trump and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after Good was killed by an ICE officer earlier in the week.
“I don’t want my taxes to pay for ICE, to masked thugs to roam our streets and terrorize our communities and rip families apart,” Matthews said while walking through his neighborhood on his birthday. “We should be taking care of each other. We should be minding each other. We should be housing the homeless. We shouldn’t be, you know, throwing people to the ground.”
The clip comes after the Wednesday (Jan. 7) death of 37-year-old Good, who was shot while in her car during an ICE operation. Footage from the incident shows that seconds before the shooting, Good tried to drive away from the confrontation. Officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have said she was attempting to “run over” the officer.
“Which brings me to Renee Nicole Good,” Matthews continued. “Murdered in front of her fellow citizens in Minneapolis, murdered in the streets. And no matter what narrative this administration is trying to sell us, we can see the videos.”
He added, “Maybe if they show you one and they slow it down and they tell you where to look, you might think, maybe there’s a chance, maybe there’s a chance that the gunman was felt threatened. But from most angles, near and far, it looks like she was trying to get away, and he shot her three times in the head, murdered in cold blood.”
In the wake of Good’s death, Minneapolis residents have rallied to mourn her and protest ICE’s presence in the city. Mayor Jacob Frey called for federal agents to leave, saying, “This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.”
Matthews also criticized U.S. military operations in Venezuela that led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro “to steal their natural resources,” as well as Trump “threatening to do it to other countries, claiming somehow sovereign nations belong to us.”
The singer-songwriter closed the video by calling members of the Trump administration “deeply dishonest people,” adding, “These are dark times. F—k ICE.”

For the first time in four months, Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem is back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, as the set climbs 2-1 on the list dated Jan. 17. The set collects its 13th nonconsecutive week atop the list, and its first since the Aug. 30, 2025-dated chart. The album debuted at No. 1 on the May 31, 2025, chart and spent 12 nonconsecutive weeks in the lead beginning with its debut frame.
I’m the Problem earned 85,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Jan. 8, according to Luminate, with the bulk of that sum driven by streaming activity of its songs.
Meanwhile, Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving continues to scale to new heights on the Billboard 200, hitting a new peak as it rises 4-3. It also posts new plateaus on the Top Album Sales and Top Streaming Albums charts.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. (This is the first week of updated streaming equivalent measurements.) The new Jan. 17, 2026-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Jan. 13. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X and Instagram.
Of I’m the Problem’s 85,000 equivalent album units earned in the latest tracking week, SEA units comprise 82,000 (equaling 87.75 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks; it spends a 20th nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales comprise 3,000 (it falls 24-34 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum.
Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl falls a spot to No. 2 (72,000 equivalent album units) after 13 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1.
Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving hits a new peak as it rises 4-3 with 65,000 equivalent album units. It also hits new highs on both Top Streaming Albums (up 4-3) and Top Album Sales (7-3).
Five former No. 1s Dean on the Billboard 200: the soundtrack to KPop Demon Hunters dips 3-4 (57,000 equivalent album units), Tate McRae’s So Close To What rises 8-5 (40,000), SZA’s SOS steps 7-6 (40,000), Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend falls 5-7 (38,000), and Wallen’s One Thing at a Time ascends 9-8 (36,000).
Alex Warren’s You’ll Be Alright, Kid returns to the top 10 for the first time since the Nov. 1, 2025-dated chart, as the set perks up 11-9 (34,000 equivalent album units). Peso Pluma and Tito Double P’s DINASTÍA rounds out the top 10 of the latest Billboard 200, as it falls 6-10 in its second week (31,000).
Luminate, the independent data provider to the Billboard charts, completes a thorough review of all data submissions used in compiling the weekly chart rankings. Luminate reviews and authenticates data. Lucy Dacus surprised fans by bringing out Chappell Roan during a benefit concert for Sudan and Palestine relief efforts in Los Angeles.
During her set at the Artists for Aid show at the Shrine Auditorium on Saturday (Jan. 10), the singer-songwriter invited Roan onstage for a cover of the Magnetic Fields’ “The Book of Love.”
“My friend cold FaceTimed me a few days ago and said, ‘Can I come sing with you at the show?’ So I’d like to invite my friend Chappell Roan to the stage,” Dacus told the crowd, which erupted in cheers.
The Boygenius member added that the pair “picked a song that we both really love” before launching into the emotional indie pop ballad from the Magnetic Fields’ 1999 album, 69 Love Songs. The track was later covered by Peter Gabriel on 2010’s Scratch My Back.
The third edition of activist Mustafa’s Artists for Aid also featured performances by Shawn Mendes, Clairo, Faye Webster, Blood Orange, Jazmine Sullivan and Geese. Additional guests included Noname, Daniel Caesar, 070 Shake, Rayvn Lenae, Omar Apollo and Mustafa.
The inaugural Artists for Aid benefit took place in New Jersey in 2024, followed by the second in London last July. Hosted by actor Pedro Pascal and model Bella Hadid, Saturday’s L.A. show aimed to raise funds for the Sudanese American Physicians Association and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
“A gratitude unfeigned for all these artists who have agreed to donate their time & voices to this, the journey here has not been a simple one,” Mustafa wrote on Instagram when announcing the event last November.
