The semifinalists did their thing, America voted. Now we know the score.
On Wednesday night, Sept. 17, America’s Got Talent America revealed the six performers who collected the most votes and get the go-ahead for the Finale.
Singers Jessica Sanchez, Jourdan Blue and the Leo High School Choir Choir are safe, as are improv Rapper Chris Turner, projectionists LightWire, and acrobats Sirca Marea. They join rappers Micah Palace (Judge Simon Cowell’s Live Golden Buzzer) and Mama Duke (Judge Mel B’s Live Golden Buzzer), dance troupe Team Recycled (Judge Howie Mandel’s Live Golden Buzzer) and singer-songwriter Steve Ray Ladson (Judge Sofía Vergara’s Live Golden Buzzer), each of whom bypassed the Semifinals drama by scoring Golden Buzzers.
It’s the end of the line, however, for Bay Melnick Virgolino, Unreal, Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir, TT Boys and Zak Mirz, who are eliminated at the penultimate stage.
Next up, the Finalist Acts will perform for the last time on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with voting opening at 6pm ET. The following night, Sept. 24, is the big reveal on NBC: the winner of Americ’as Got Talent Season 20, and the $1 million grand prize.
Casting is already underway for Season 21. Visit agtauditions.com for more.
Steph Curry has a reputation as one of the nicest guys in the NBA, but the basketball superstar will draw a line in the sand when it comes to disrespectful comments about his wife.
The Golden State Warriors point guard hopped in the comments section when he spotted rapper Killer Mike responding to a video criticizing Steph’s wife of 14 years, Ayesha Curry. TikToker Bookie Woodz posted the video, accusing Ayesha of “embarrassing” her husband by sharing her insecurity over not getting as much attention from men as Steph gets from women. “She wants to go be GloRilla or some sh–,” Woodz says in the TikTok. “Like, we get it, bro. Just go drop an album or some sh–.”

For his part, Killer Mike took to the comments section, writing alongside three laugh-crying emojis: “My n—a said she wanna go be Glo!!! Man Steph doesn’t deserve the embarrassment [for real]. God bless him.”
In his response, Steph Curry said he’s come to expect takes like these from “other clowns,” but thought better of the four-time Grammy-winning Run the Jewels MC.
“@killermike naaaaa not you Mike,” Curry wrote, in a screen shot from The Shade Room. “I’m cool [staying] silent and letting these other clowns have [their] moment! And you’re the worst of them,” he wrote, tagging the original poster Bookie Woodz. “But you’re better than that @killermike. Stay in your lane and let God keep blessing me like he is. We r good over here.”
Steph ended his missive with a peace-sign emoji.
While they first met when they were teenagers, Steph and Ayesha Curry didn’t start dating until 2008 before getting married in 2011. The couple have two daughters (Riley and Ryan) and two sons (Canon and Caius).

Befitting YouTube executive Lyor Cohen‘s background as a top hip-hop manager and record mogul, many of the “Made On YouTube” features announced Tuesday (Sept. 16) at an event in New York are focused on musicians’ needs. Beginning later this year, artists will be able to share behind-the-scenes video content, countdowns for new releases and “thank you” clips to fans, as well as participate in a pilot program for selling exclusive merch to prolific viewers. Plus, they’ll have access to new tools, many involving AI tech developed by YouTube parent Google, to help generate song ideas, video sketches and even entire works.

As part of YouTube’s 20th-anniversary rollout of 30-plus new tools and products, Dua Lipa told Cohen, in an on-stage interview, that her content on the service has helped her be “part of the conversation” and “adds to the closeness and brings more of a familiarity.”
New features on YouTube Shorts, which competes for views with TikTok and Instagram Reels, have clear benefits for artists and musicians. The new “Speech to Song” tool combines snippets of recorded conversation, say, or a verbalized idea for a lyric or poem, with AI-generated musical ideas into what sounds like an actual work. (Many of these features are in the process of rolling out in the U.S., as well as other countries.)
Another feature, Veo 3 Fast, customizes Google DeepMind’s Veo 3 video-generation tool so users can quickly and easily link sound and video clips. The tech allows for lower latency, reducing the buffering period that often occurs between a camera capturing a moment and its display to viewers.
The Veo 3 tool has an AI component, too: Plug in, for example, “punk rock dad,” combined with the original song fragment, and wind up with a custom angry-parent-skateboarding music video. Veo 3 Fast also allows users to borrow motion from existing videos, like a dance or sports move, and apply it to a photo to animate the still image.
Also during the event, YouTube reported that it has 2.7 billion users, landed $60 billion in 2024 media revenue and has paid out $100 billion to content creators since 2021.

The Muppet Show is coming back — and it better have an unlimited sequin budget, because pop A-lister Sabrina Carpenter will be joining her fellow bedazzled diva Miss Piggy on the Muppet Theatre stage.
On Wednesday (Sept. 17), Disney+ announced that The Muppet Show — which originally ran from 1976 to 1981 — will return for a one-off special in 2026, just in time for the 50th anniversary of the series premiere.
“It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights, it’s time to get things started as The Muppet Show returns for a triumphant event on Disney+ in 2026 with special guest star @SabrinaCarpenter!” reads a caption on the Disney+ social accounts, alongside photos of the show’s logo and a mug engraved with Kermit the Frog’s name. “This brand-new installment from The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures will feature Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and the gang as they return to the Muppet Theatre to put on a variety show filled with music, comedy, and plenty of chaos.”
Carpenter will also serve as an executive producer on the special, alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver and Alex McAtee, who are exec-producing for Point Grey Pictures, and David Lightbody, Leigh Slaughter and Michael Steinbach, executive producing for The Muppets Studio.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the special will serve as a “backdoor pilot” for a proper revival of the series next year.
It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights, it’s time to get things started as The Muppet Show returns for a triumphant event on Disney+ in 2026 with special guest star Sabrina Carpenter!
Carpenter is also in the news this week as one of the headliners for next year’s Coachella festival — a gig she predicted back in spring 2024 when she told her afternoon Coachella crowd, “See you back here when I headline!” Well, she might have manifested this Muppet Show job as well: Back in 2020, when she participated in the COVID-era TV special The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II, Carpenter was one of the singers who joined Rogen (yes, the new Muppet Show EP) to perform “The Muppet Show Theme” together through virtual video.

This time, Cam responded to Dame’s contentious recent interview with The Breakfast Club, during which the Roc-A-Fella co-founder claimed he’s been named the chairman of Revolt TV with a “pathway to acquisition,” news that was first exclusively reported by VIBE and has since become the subject of controversy.

“I ain’t know you’d be lying like this, yo, it’s sad,” Cam said on his Instagram as 50’s “What Up Gangsta” plays in the background. “They told me, but you know when a n—a, your man, you don’t pay attention to a lot of sh–. I didn’t know, bro, that you’re a flagrant liar like this, man. Now look, Talk With Flee comes on tomorrow at 5 p.m. on Revolt’s YouTube, but that was sh– that he talked about last week, so part two will be out this Friday on Revolt’s YouTube about what he talked about this week.”
The Harlem rapper then went on to try to clarify the current situation with Revolt and Dash from his perspective.
“The n—a called Revolt last week and say he wants to put his content on Revolt channel,” he explained. “Revolt programming is booked up until 2026. … So I have two more shows I could do this year and so when I found that out, I called my man Fendi — ’cause I know that Fendi and Dame speak — I said, ‘Yo, tell Dame I’ll put the shows on my slot on Revolt … if I can executive produce the shows.’”
Cam added that Dash once helped him and The Diplomats out when the former record executive brought them over to the Roc during the early 2000s. “He did it for me,” he recalled. “When I needed help, he put my album out on Roc-A-Fella and I let him be executive producer. I’m trying to do the same thing for you. I got two slots left. If you want two shows on Revolt this year … and you wasn’t getting paid ’cause you said you’d do it for free, I got a couple dollars for you. I’m just the executive producer of the show.”
Cam then went on to say that Dame wasn’t the biggest fan of that idea and continued to describe the conversation he had with their mutual friend.
“He tells Fendi, ‘Yeah, aight, bet. Nah, matter of fact, f— that. I’m the Godfather. He can’t executive produce my shows.’ Dame, your own godkids don’t want you. How you the godfather of anything? Your word don’t count no more. You don’t got teeth. You have dentures. Your word don’t mean nothin’. You fell off the Mount Rushmore Harlem a long time ago, but we’ll address it all tomorrow and Friday. But don’t say I ain’t trying to help out.”
Dame and Cam’ron knew each other from their days running the streets of Harlem before they became rap legends in their own right and have had a lucrative business relationship in the past when Cam and The Diplomats spent some time on Roc-A-Fella Records.

StubHub began its life as a public company with a modest decline on the New York Stock Exchange, as its shares fell below the IPO price. The secondary ticketing company’s shares opened at $25.35 and peaked at $26.34 before ending the day at $22.00, 6.4% below the $23.50 initial public offering price set a day earlier.
A first-day drop isn’t unusual for companies that go public. From 1980 to 2024, 16.5% of IPO stocks had first-day losses, according to statistics compiled by the University of Florida’s Jay R. Ritter. But a far higher percentage of IPO stocks fell on their first day of trading in recent years. In 2023 and 2024, that figure rose to 53.7% and 34.7%, respectively.

StubHub offered 34.04 million shares of Class A common stock. Prior to the offering on Wednesday (Sept. 17), the company had targeted a price range of $22.00 to $25.00 per share. Wednesday’s $22.00 closing price equates to a market capitalization of approximately $7.58 billion.
The company plans to use the IPO proceeds to pay down debt and fund working capital. As of June 30, 2025, StubHub had debt of $2.38 billion, $1.24 billion in cash and cash equivalents and a negative working capital of $1.2 billion. Interest expense in the first half of 2025 totaled $86 million.
StubHub was founded in 2000 by Eric Baker, who left the company before it was acquired by eBay in 2007. Baker founded viagogo in 2006 and built the company into a leading secondary ticketing marketplace outside of the U.S. Viagogo acquired StubHub in 2020, and both companies now exist under the StubHub umbrella.
Investors in the IPO were buying into what’s known as a “controlled company.” Baker owns 100% of StubHub’s 3.64 million Class B common shares, and following Wednesday’s offering, he controls nearly 88% of the voting power. Each Class B share carries 100 votes per share to one vote per share for the Class A shares held by investors. That gives Baker the ability to control outcomes of matters that require shareholder votes, including the election of the board of directors.

StubHub reported a net loss of $76 million on revenue of $828 million, up 3%, in the first half of 2025. Gross merchandise sales — the total value paid by customers for tickets and fulfillment — was $4.4 billion, up 11% from the prior-year period. Adjusted earnings before taxes, interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) was $102 million.
Revenue growth was down markedly from 29.5% in 2024 and 31.9% in 2023. In a statement, Kyle Stanford, director of venture capital research at PitchBook, said StubHub’s “low revenue growth rate highlights uncertainty in the consumer market, on which it depends. Consumer sentiment has fallen over the past few months as inflation has picked up, adding headwinds to resuming the growth it saw the year before.”
But StubHub sees favorable market conditions ahead and believes the total addressable market, which includes primary ticketing and secondary marketplaces, is worth $194 billion internationally. It puts the value of the secondary market at $18 billion in the U.S. and $23 billion internationally. Primary ticketing, where StubHub had $100 million of gross merchandise sales in 2024, is worth an estimated $132 billion globally. Additionally, StubHub believes $22 billion worth of tickets go unsold each year.

Burna Boy lands a career milestone on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, as the superstar picks up his first top 10 through his featured role on Gunna’s “wgft.”
The track climbs 11-10 on the list dated Sept. 20, in its fifth charting week, with gains in all three contributing metrics. For Gunna, “wgt” gives the rapper his 19th top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

For the tracking week of Sept. 5-11 in the United States, “wgft,” released on Gunna/Young Stoner Life/300/Atlantic Records, registered 7.3 million official streams, according to Luminate, up 11% from the prior week’s total and 1.3 million audience impressions, a 109% jump from the previous week. Digital sales, meanwhile, were a negligible number (under 500 copies), but also improved on last week’s sum.
As mentioned, “wgft” is Gunna’s 19th top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. It’s his third of 2025, after “Way It Is,” a collaboration with Justin Bieber, reached No. 10 in July and “Just Say Dat,” opened at its No. 10 high in August. Both “Just Say Dat” and “wgft” are from Gunna’s latest album, The Last Wun, which was released in August and has clocked three weeks at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
For Burna Boy, his maiden top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs comes via his second appearance. He, 21 Savage and Metro Boomin teamed up for “Just Like Me,” which notched a No. 28 best in January 2024.
While Burna Boy continues to build his Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs account, the Nigerian-based star counts many successes across other Billboard charts. Seven Billboard Hot 100 hits are among them, including solo singles “Last Last” (No. 44) and “Sittin’ on Top of the World,” (No. 80), which flipped samples from songs by Toni Braxton and Brandy, respectively. He’s also racked up 20 top 10 hits on Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs, which launched in 2022, and five albums on the all-genre Billboard 200, including Love, Damini, which peaked at No. 14 in July 2022.
Elsewhere, “wgft” ascends to two new peaks: 6-4 on Hot Rap Songs and 72-69 on the Hot 100.

Odell Beckham Jr. is addressing the social media reaction to a video of him dancing in his car to Drake‘s “Family Matters” that went viral last summer.
OBJ sat down with Complex recently and was asked about the backlash he received online after he posted the video and his thoughts on the back-and-forth between his close friend Drake and Kendrick Lamar that had the rap game in a chokehold for the last year-plus.
“I support bro through all of what he’s going through,” he said before explaining that the video wasn’t necessarily meant to be posted. “And that video was even a joke that I sent to my boy Chris. It wasn’t even a video that I thought was going anywhere because it’s like, ‘Yo, we’re trying to get some stuff for TikTok.’”
He then continued by saying that once the video got out, he started to notice the assumptions people were making online about his sexuality.
“And that video gets out,” he said. “Then I’m in a tie-dye shirt, and they make it all kinds of stuff. That’s when I fall back to like…when I say, I really know who I am? Like stop it. Whatever you may think, I know who I am. I would make a joke about all that other stuff but…I’ma just leave it. Maybe another time you’ll hear the quote come out. I know who I am. I know what I do.”
He was then asked about his thoughts on the rap battle as it unfolded and said he’s always supported Drake.
“I listened, I thought it was great. I told him that to his face,” the Pro Bowl wide receiver told the outlet. “But at the end of the day, you’re talking about Drake, he’s one of very few. I don’t know necessarily know how that played out in his life…that’s for him to learn and go through.”
He added: “I had always supported that side, I had always shown up, I had always done that. Before their little beef, had I listened to Kendrick’s stuff? Yeah, Kendrick’s a great artist. I love music. Music is what makes me, me. Since I was little.”

Lizzo is opening up about why she feels the origins of sampling laws were “racially charged.”
The Detroit native stopped by Million Dollaz Worth of Game earlier this week where she discussed the art of sampling and how it polices Black creativity.

“The first time people started sampling was who? It was rappers in the ’80s and ’90s,” she said. “They were sampling records because they didn’t have access to big studios. They didn’t grow up learning how to play bass and stuff like that.”
Lizzo added: “They created the genre of hip-hop through sampling records in their parents’ vinyls and stuff. There were no sampling laws back then. It was all a free-for-all. So they was just outside, just like, ‘OK, this is just what it is.’ And then hip-hop was born, and it was this beautiful thing.”
She recalled the early sampling issues of Biz Markie, as Warner Bros. Records took his I Need a Haircut album off shelves over a sample on his “Alone Again” track.
“I just feel like the theft of it all, putting theft on Black culture, that’s the part that kind of turns me off,” she continued. “Hip-hop’s medium was sampling. Sampling is a Black art that bred hip-hop. Hip-hop was born from sampling. And now sampling is synonymous with theft.”
Lizzo then clarified that she believes “the origins of sampling…were racially charged” as hip-hop was built on sampling for much of the ’70s and ’80s. “The origin of sampling laws were racially motivated to me because it was policing Black art,” she claimed.
Co-hosts Gillie and Wallo weren’t well-informed of the early sampling laws, so they didn’t offer up much of any rebuttal to Lizzo’s claims. However, the Detroit-bred artist ran into sampling issues of her own in 2021 when she was sued by Orlandus Dunning over the use of a recording of him performing at a mutual friend’s funeral on Lizzo’s 2016 track “Coconut Oil.”
